Currrently Quidco have an offer on for any 12 month sim free contract you get 100£ cash back,
so you can get a £20 contract 800 minutes 1600 texts, with £100 cash back works out 11.60 a month.....
now i can live with that....after all at this time of the year, where money is hard to coem by im very happy to save 55£/mo and only spend 11.60 on my phone...
Thought I'd post again to address a few of the queries raised, and the responses I got to them when I called. My post last Sunday confirmed that I had been able to cancel my contract with absolutely no problem whatsoever. I got through to a really helpful chap who seemed really p****d off with Orange and was more than happy to cancel my contract for me.
So far as mentioning the infamous text from Orange was concerned, I did not mention this. He asked, almost as an afterthought, if I'd had the text and I said yeah I had - no questions about when or where from.
I then asked for my PAC code and this duly arrived in the post on Thursday morning. The only concern I now have is whether I will get a huge bill next to cover the remaining 11 months of my contract, but the CS rep said I wouldn't - watch this space!!
Finally, as for what I do now. After many an hour looking at my options, I have decided to visit my local market tomorrow morning and get my LG Renoir unlocked for a tenner, then nip into Tesco and get one of their PAYG Sims (currently £5 for a £10 card). Each time you top up £15 or more, they treble your credit and if you set this up on a regular basis, you also get 10% off! Not only this, you also stack up your clubcard points too! Have been put off PAYG for many years because of worrying about running out of credit, and also not qualifying for a nice new phone. However, mine is only 7 months old and really doesn't need replacing, and Tesco offer a service where they will automatically top up your credit if you fall to a level you have pre-set - setting this up also apparently qualifies you for the 10% off. Seems perfect but I'm not that naive to think it will be - again, watch this space!! Having said that, I know several people doing that and they say its brilliant.
Sorry guys - I seem to have written a novel again!!:rotfl:0 -
I just phoned up and it took literally 2 minutes. I said I'd got the text when I hadn't and he didn't queston it further so think that may be a lie.
A lovely scottish gentleman helped. It really depends who you get through to. He tried to persuade me to stay with more minutes etc. and said cancelling may affect credit checks in the future which I think was a lie really. And then that was it.

Could somebody clear this up for me, if i get a O2 simplicity sim now can i still port my number when orange send me the pac in 5 days time? or would i have to give O2 the pac number when ordering the sim? i want to order one before they stop doing the £100 cashback offer0
-
You can port in to o2 at anytime, you'll just use your temp number from o2 until you have your pac.0

There seems to be a decent amount of confusion about whether this effects all orange contracts or only some of them, does any one know for definite whether it effects all contracts or has this change actually been put in place for contracts starting now?0

If this is a repeat post on this thread, I apologise.
Guy at disconnections says I will not be affected.
I am looking at the June price price for PAYM, and the July Price plan for PAYM, both state 5p minimum call charge for my 24m Dolphin40.
Can anyone give a definitve answer. Will ALL contracts be affected or not?
Has anyone else got a Dolphin40 taken out in June? Were you successful in cancelling?
Thanks.0 -
mmmm new member, i wonder if they connected to Orange in anyway????
Please let me assure everyone, I'm in no way affiliated with Orange. I merely want the best deal I can get and think that I already have a pretty good deal, which has been negociated with retentions last december. I'd love to cancel, play hard ball with retentions, get a new phone, Nokia 6700 or Blackberry Curve 8900, reduction in my £34 ish per month and not affect my free broadband in any way.
Do the panel think this is do'able?
Apologies for my poor grammar and lack of paragraphs in previous postings ;-) Must try harder.....
Cheers

Hi everyone, i cancelled my 18 month contract yesterday - they said i had a while to go and i said yes but i still want to cancel my contract with regards to the price changes - the guy i spoke to didn't say it would cost me anything to cancel - so i asked him to send me out a PAC code - i got that letter today with the PAC code on it (with other offers they have - typical) the letter states that the bill comes in 1 month in advance - so i'm assuming my bill will come in a s normal the next month and i'll pay my usual £30.00 for 600 calls and unlimited texts msgs (which i never use btw) - i'm still apprehensive though - still - any comments?? ps i know the PAC code is valid for 30 days - this is to switch your numbers over to another contracter0

I did this yesterday from my phone to check and if I don't recieve a text will be making another short call to 08702 after the 16th September to see if the price has increased. If it has then thats the proof to cancel and contract and also complain about not being told about the changes of costs.
I've looked at online billing but cannot for the life of me find where calls are listed.0 -
Who here signed up in early July and was able to cancel?0
