Orange Price changes ?

Just got the message too.
Really wanted the Iphone or as I am on Orange Nokia5800 for while, but couldn't upgrade till December.
I will try to cancel tonight.

I've just rang to ask where my PAC code is that should have been sent out the end of last week, and now they're telling me I have to wait til 14th September before my phone can be disconnected which is when the new prices come into effect.

Has anyone else had this?

The terms and conditions say you must cancel within 1 month of them telling you of the price increase.
I would just keep quoting the same T&C's over and over. Emphasise it clearly states it's your "right to cancel".

Me again...LOL!

Rang orange again and glad I did! Stated that I didn't want to wait til September (when the changes take place as I was worried it would bring me over the 30 days/1 month notice that I needed to give them).

Turns out the lady I spoke to before had got it wrong and that you do need to cancel within the 1 month period of receiving the text. Now I only need to wait 30 days for my final bill, then that's it.

Glad someone finally knew what they were saying, she even gave me a reference number of the call should I need it!

i rang earlier to see if it would effect me and was told it would the lady asked if i wanted putting through to disconnections and i said not yet thanks ill leave it a while.
anyway i have just got of the phone , the lady asked if i know what the changes are and i read here this
The minimum charge for calling outside your allowance, including calls to 08 and voicemail is changing from 4.9p to 14.7p minimum charge. This doesn't mean the charges per minute is changing, just the minimum charge they will charge. So if you're on 1 second, it will cost 14.7p.

she said it wont affect me as i dont go over my minutes i told here i will be doing as soon as i go back to work . she was quite funny but i said just put me though to disconnections please and she did .

well the guy at disconnections was dead helpfull he said my phone will be disconnected tomorrow no problems no buy out fee saving me £754.00. i only had the contract since 15th june o9 so now i have a free htc touch hd a free wi fit board.
oh and i have not had the text sent to my phone . the guy at disconnections said quite a few are cancelling so dont take no for an answer

I just rang up and the lady told me that I was due a text on 8th August and I could cancel then. Seeing as its only next week I shall wait til then and cancel. Otherwise I shall fight them all the way.

you shoudln't have to wait another week according to this

Does this only apply to those that got a contract directly with Orange or does it include mobiles bought from other places (phones4u) that are on the Orange network?

I got told the same as you.

I'm going to try and hold out as long as possible, as I'm waiting to get my £150 cashback from Quidco for when I signed up in June, so I don't want that to be declined.

It will affect everyone!

I was told by an agent that they are expecting around 2 million terminations because of this change!!
