    p.s. In answer to the question

    "Can I record a telephone call to/from xxx"

    The answer is

    "Yes - you can record any telephone call you make or receive - on condition that you use that recording solely for the purpose of proving that the conversation took place and recording what was said".

    You cannot use snippets of it as samples for your next No1 charttopper - you cannot use bits of it for internet humour - you cannot play it back to people for laughs.

    This is why callcentres always have the disclaimer about 'training and monitoring purposes' - if they didn't say that, they couldn't use the recordings for those purposes - only for proving you agreed to a contract or whatever.

    So record away...

    Hi all,

    I upgraded my contract on the 29th June with Orange...from Dolphin 35 to Dolphin 45 - 1200mins and unlimited txts. 500mb data.

    I received the txt on the 18th July. I rang up about an hour ago after seeing this forum. Spoke with two lovely ladies and hey presto I am waiting for my PAC code. I was told that it may not affect me too much but I stated that it was not the contract I had signed up for. I was put through to the cancellation/relations department and I was asked when I got the text and what the number was. I explained that the number was not present (it wasnt) it just said 'from_orange' in the 'from' field of the text.

    I was put on hold for a few mins then told the cancellation was going through - I asked for my PAC code and this will be sent in the next few days.

    Easy peasy really and usually Im rubbish at this sort of thing...

    Now I just need to worry about which phone to get next...

    gonna phone them in 20 mins.. should i lie and say i have got a text?? got my contract in may .. havent got a text yet...
  • ok can i just ask when was the first like lot of txts sent out?

    Does anyone have any information on whether this applies to business contracts? I'm on Solo 45 and have just spoken to a very pleasant CS rep, on the business help number, but she was not aware of these changes. She gave me her name and extension number and promised to find out and call me back.

    I haven't received any text but can't find anything on the Orange website that mentions any changes, I could then use this when she calls back. Is there anything on the website?

    Update : I did get a call back (pretty quick) and Orange business are not aware of any changes to the minimum charges. I will probably call regular CS later and see what they say.
  • Having just been a lurker on these forums, this is my first post. Amazing! I called Orange, used the arguments raised here and managed to cancel my Dolphin 35 contract with 14 months to run.

    During the persuasive arguments to stay with Orange it was noted that I would be better off staying with them:rotfl:as all the service providers were putting up the calls and I would find Orange offers the best deal.

    My Customer Service Rep also said that I was the first caller to cancel with him and he had been very busy doing upgrades:D

    i just phoned up and said i want to cancel please.....(didn't explain anything)
    Rep said... "you got a text thing"..
    i said yes and it was done in less than 5 mins in total!!!

    got the phone in may... anyone want an Omnia HD for £350???!!:p:p:p
