I contacted Orange CS on 04/08/2009 and cancelled my contract and asked for a PAC, due to the price increase. Was told it would be 3 - 5 days for the PAC, I wanted until last Friday (14/08/2009) but still no PAC. I called Orange CS and asked about the PAC, they told me that one had not be requested and that if I wanted one, I would have to go back into contract and then buy myself out as they are no longer changing their prices. But they are still going to honor the 30 day disconnection. Does anyone have any idea if I can get the PAC without going back into contract?
Can I just say what a load of.... ok maybe I will not finish that sentence off. Well go back with them on a SIM only deal - that lasts 30 days. As soon as you get it - cancel it and request a PAC Code. That is simplest way I'd say if you don't want all the hassle. But if your up for a few phone calls try....
Otherwise I'd try phoning up again and requesting your PAC code. If they deny you it again say you want to 'escalate the situation', then they will pass you on to there manager - if they do not give you your PAC code, then 'escalate the situation again' and talk to there manager. If no PAC is sent to you after talking to these three people - phone CEO Office and ask them.
Failing all that - phone Ofcom and ask for there advice. I don't have time to look up the information regarding PAC codes - but I am sure its Ofcom who deal with PAC codes.0 -
Interesting. I just ordered a SIM only deal from Virgin Mobile. 200 mins 200 Texts £10/Month - minimum contract length: 1 month.
And I checked on-line to begin with: 0.97p delivery charge. I thought Id phone them and order this as I am already a Virgin Broadband user. And well from ordering it on the phone - no 0.97p delivery charge.
Hehe
Oh and the 'already customer' incentives where: An extra 200 mins to other Virgin Mobile users. Which isn't too bad. And 48 hours disconnection time which is ideal I thought. They also sent me out two other PAYG sims for 'my friends' which I will use one of them to port my 2nd number out of Orange.0 -
I lol'd .
I am polite and reasonable when speaking to them. As a result I have always experienced good customer service. I just rang CS and they confirmed that I could cancel my contract early without penalty.
Instead I negotiated free 500mb data use.0 -

This comment insinuates that those of us who have experienced VERY poor customer service from Orange brought it on ourselves!!!
I am always polite until some jumped up little ****** starts giving me atitude. and if it was as simple as you are trying to make it sound then wouldn't everyone who called to cancel have been able to do so?0 -

Is it perhaps a part bill? You need to give 30 days notice so perhaps that 30 days was part of your last bill and this is the balance? Best to phone them up and ask them to explain it. They aren't allowed to charge you for porting your number.0
