If your contract is due to run out within 3 months you can upgrade on-line.
So are you currently saying you have upgraded to the £25/Month Contract? And a Sim only?

If this is the case, you should send back the Sim only within the cooling period. The Internet Orange doesn't lie - the Orange staff sometimes don't know the 'truth' answer.

If you have gone past the cooling period and your other contract is definitely going to end then you can't upgrade as the contract you had, is being cancelled and your starting 'technically' on a new fresh contract.

But like I said send back the sim only, upgrade via on-line on your old one. Should be fine.

    hi thanks for the response,

my contract was due to end next year, i called monday to cancel but ended up being talked into a SIM only contract, i then checked my orange online account and it said "you plan change is coming" due to start sim onlt in sept but also said you are eligible for an upgrade so looked into it and ended ordering a HTC hero on my £25 a month contract, what im a little worried about is that i will have to paY BOTH THE SIM ONLY AND THE CONTRAct or that i would have confused oranges system and they have renewed my contract but this wil then go to SIM only in september

I don't think anyone can answer that apart from Orange. I'm afraid you will have to phone them to ask the question - phone the billing department, they will tell you your situation without the power to 'play funny !!!!!!s' with your account - in regard to denying your cancellation. If something will need to be changed then they will inform you of this.

Or you can alternatively - if you haven't went over to the SIM ONLY yet, you can wait till that happens. But you may then be stuck with the £25 and then only be able to cancel the SIM ONLY.

I personally would phone the billing department and ask if come September you would be paying two bills... £25/Month and the SIM ONLY costs, then explain that you accidentally got the £25/Month and would like to cancel it within its 14 day cooling period.

    Goodluck

Check if your on-line account still offers you the choice to upgrade. If it does you still can. Id advise upgrading on-line as opposed to phoning them, they might turn round and say we aren't changing the t&c now so don't have a right to upgrade.

Thanks mate, If i do it online do you think they will still offer me what they did over the phone. The person i spoke to seemed nice enough and promised to phone back on thje 5th when i am elligible but there is no guarentee they will.

Haha. Excellent forum to post that on - why spend money on these countless dating websites, get a date on MSE and save ;)

You cant bargain with Internet Orange I am afraid - its just you clicking buttons and agreeing to what is there.

Yes like you said it is a risk. At the same time have you checked elsewhere for a better deal? Actually check on Orange's website as well - they might have tried to up sell to you on the phone (more than it was on-line).

Again I cant give you a guarantee to your situation personally. The only thing you can do is talk to them. If you aren't offered the same deal say you wish to leave Orange completely, but would like to keep your number. Don't be scared to say no to there first offer either - there first offer tends to be the worst possible they can offer you.

Good luck again with all this and I hope you don't end up paying for two.

Thanks again mate but i think you are gettin my problem confused with the other posters as i'm in no danger of having two contracts lol i supposse thats what happens whjen you are trying to give advice to lots of people.

I think i will just need to wait until the 5th then to see if i hear from them with the upgrade they previously offered. The deal was an HTC hero handset, 1200 mins unlimited txt, unlimited internet use and unlimited orange maps for £29.99 a month.

Ah I see, it sounded to me like you agreed to a contract on the phone and then went on-line and upgraded your other contract. My apologise.

I pay £20/Month for 1200 Minutes, Unlimited texts and 500MB internet. Yours doesn't sound too bad.

What I would consider for yourself is to buy the phone outright and then look into SIM only deals. Sometimes this works out a lot better in the long run. I say this because there won't be many deals available with that phone. Some people don't look in to this. Or buy the phone outright then buy another phone+contract. Sell the second phone and be on the tariff of the second one but use the handset you bought. I don't know if there is an MSE section for what I have just said. I may create a website myself with all these deals compared including this option.

But I am glad you won't be on two contracts and I wish you the best of luck getting the contract they offered you.
