Hi all,
I'm in a bit of a muddle now and I'm not sure what to do.
I originally requested PAC's for my two Orange accounts about 2 weeks ago now and haven't got around to using them yet because I'm just waiting on a SIM to arrive from another network. The problem is now that I've signed up to another lengthy contract, Orange have turned around and told me that I now can't go ahead and cancel my existing contracts without paying the outstanding balance in full. They are basically doing a complete U-Turn on me and I'm now lumbered with an additional phone contract.
I'm absolutely furious. Despite their press release I was told that their legal department had "since updated their stand on things" and was now no longer willing to let people who were previously allowed to cancel continue doing so.
Do I have any rights here? Does anyone know what the latest stance is from Orange regarding people who have PAC's? I'm utterly lost and confused, and extremely annoyed with them.
James.
I would go to Ofcom personally.0 -

That absolutely stinks mate,
Call Ofcom immediately, and don't give up fighting till Orange honour the PAC codes they sent you. Im pretty sure you will be 100% legally safe here, after all, why should you be stuck with the new contract as well due to Orange changing their minds every 5 minutes.
Appalling attitude from an appalling company, i hope EVERY person reading shows their disgust too, and never does business with these sharks again.0 -

Yup, the person I spoke to was very polite. No denial of anything.0 -

And I would also send something to Guardian... I am sure they will ve happy to make Orange even more stupid! (they are doing very good job themselves though..)0 -
No sign of the Orange rep then I see..Shame as I really wanted to know why some people were offered new phones and £20 to stay and others got next to nothing offered.
I would also like to know why loyal customers were treated badly
Guess those questions will never be answered.......Shame that the company are such cowards.There is a race of men that don't fit in; A race that can't stand still;
So they break the hearts of kith and kin, and roam the world at will.

A rep from Orange has already confirmed "that customers that have requested their PAC code “will still get it”, meaning if you had already confirmed your cancellation and requested to transfer your number to another provider, the cancellation still stands".
People that cancelled already have not reported any problems using the PAK code so far. Did Orange phone you to tell you that they are going to charge?0
