I am really starting to get that impression. Still nothing on there website or text.
I got this read out what they said at 8am this morning. Before they released it. So it seems it is just an internal thing they decieded to throw at there staff.
Confirmation Orange? Text, letter dammit your creating more confusion.
Ofcom hear our cries and please for the love of god slap a nappy on Orange for now please!!!!0 -
I just took a contract with ORANGE yesterday after getting my new phone, so I agreed to the new prices in September, they have now retracted these so surely I am within my right to cancel as the terms i have now been put on are not the same as the original ones
You should be within your trial period and able to cancel.
haha I see your point actually. You agreed to new contract, now they are revoking the changes. Your contract T&C's no longer exist. So yes you have a case.
Have you phoned them yet and asked?0 -
Hello,
I requested a PAYG sim card so i could cancel my contract and transfer my number to my dads phone who is also on orange.
I was told it would arrive around the 24th, is this now not going to happen? as i have taken another contract out in the meantime!0 -

Just had an email from orange, they have not made the call changes and are refusing my cancellation - time to haggle for a buy out
My buy out is £700+ which is rediciolous as I have a right to cancel.
My situation was that I was told I was not elgible about 4-5 times, then on Tuesday told I was. I just wanted to check with my third party the conditions. Phoned back the dude who said I was eligible went home, spoke to someone else waiting to be put through to disconnections - could not get to my phone in time when they called back. Phoned back this morning and BAMN Orange has widthdrawn.0 -

Just to clarify once again, due to feedback from our customers we are no longer going ahead with the proposed price changes.
If you have already requested a PAC code, you will still get it if we have agreed to it.
Unfortunatley I can't comment on individual cases, but if you have any more questions or want to take any matters further please contact our Customer Services dept.
Thank you
How about people waiting for their PAYG SIM card?0 -
Orange have dodged a bullet for the time being.
I would struggle to put a number on the amount of people who are now not happy with what has happened over the past couple of weeks.
All these people who are now stuck with their contracts are going to leave Orange as soon as they have the opportunity.
Granted, Orange have saved some money now, but in the long term?
Would it not make business sense to say to all the people who are unhappy "ok, we will allow you to leave your contract".
Put all those people on a block list of some so they cant sign up again for X number of years then focus on getting new customers with some nice offers and maybe an improvement in service.
If i was allowed to go, i would more than likely say to people, i did not have the best of times with the customer service dept, but fair play to them, they allowed me to leave my contract, so i have no real complaints.
But now, if anyone asks about Orange, i will tell them how bad they are - thus maybe stopping a potential new customer from joining.
Times that by the number of people who are unhappy and you have a big financial problem.
This is not just going to go away because they have decided not to increase the cost of calls "FOR THE TIME BEING".
I have no doubts that the people in the big offices are all sat round trying to work out how they can increase the prices now - without this problem to make up some of the losses.
Just my thought though0 -
will orange honour all the discounts for the remainder of the contract for those who took them.0

Communications Act 2003. Is quite strange - it covers a price change whether it be more or less.
I think the logical reasoning is that less may put doubt on the service, or it may be of a lesser quality. Its a fair act in its working.0 -
I phoned yesterday lunchtime and successfully cancelled my contract and had my PAC code sent out. I'm going to collect my new phone this afternoon but don't want to have two contracts running at the same time if orange haven't cancelled me.
Does anyone know of a quick way (ie one that doesn't involve calling 150 again) to check if my cancellation still stands?
Thanks
Log in online. If you can upgrade / new plan / new phone etc... you have been cancelled.
Your new one should be within trial period - so should be able to cancel within 14 days I think it is.0 -

Don't mean to panick you but I would phone and confirm they are going to do this for you as they now seem to be denying all knowledge of PAC code requests for a whole lot of customers0
