Thats true "orange" have u-turned on this as suggested after talks with Ofcom.
I have also heard that Orange PLC may discipline some orange retail staff for advising customers to cancel and then sign a new contract.0 -

I thought all their calls were recorded. Maybe worth asking for a manager. I was half expecting this too as I called Thursday and had not received mine so I called them and they text it to me today. I wonder if there is anyway they can pull a list of all the numbers you've dialled to confirm you called and how long the call was etc.
Hope that helps, I know this is so frustrating.0 -

fortunately i got my pac code a few days ago - im still waiting to be charged for 12 months though....
Surely when orange announced the price change, it changed everyone's contracts by a certain amount, allowing them to cancel there contract. - it doesn't matter if people had previously been using telephone numbers not included in their bundle - because for the rest of the contract they would be worse off if they ever did.
if someone called orange up after that price change announcement was made, there were within there rights to cancel their contract. If the orange representative told them they couldn't cancel for whatever reason (hadn't dialled an 08 number; changes won't effect you), that orange representative has denied your right to cancel and lied to you.
If i was anyone that this has happened to, I would be complaining to Ofcom and requesting from orange, under the data protection act, all information held on my account, including any audio recordings. Should the audio explaining why you cannot cancel be included, i would then be complaining to the information commissioner.
Orange have acted deplorably, and their statement is rubbish. They have not cancelled these changes because of customer satisfaction - if every single orange pay monthly user called up and said "i'm not happy with these changes, but i'll not cancel my contract". does anyone think they would have backed down with these changes? Personally I don't think so.
I think every other customer who can't get their contract cancelled this time, really should cancel when the minimum term is up, and not even consider staying with them, regardless of what they offer.0 -

Unfortunatley I can't comment on individual cases, but if you have any more questions or want to take any matters further please contact our Customer Services dept.

That is half the problem for me.. I did not leave but was NOT offered a new phone as some here clearly were. Why in all honesty should I get less ?
I pay my bill on time and never have a problem with the customer service etc but it would seem had I yelled more I would have got more and that just is not fair.
One rule for all or none, but it seems that if people left even with no reason they get offered a whole lot. Those that did not want to leave get offered nothing.
Not really good customer service and once my contract is over I will NEVER go back to orange or recommend them to anyone as I know feel let down even though I supported the company (to some extent)
I tried the customer number and got " yes customer relations might be offering new phones or contracts but that is down to each rep"
I can't see how reading all the posts here anyone can think it is fair.There is a race of men that don't fit in; A race that can't stand still;
So they break the hearts of kith and kin, and roam the world at will.

Hi,
I have just tried as many people have to cancel my contract under section 4.3 of Terms & Conditions but are basically telling me where to go now!!!
He told me that I should receive a text soon saying that they are now not going to be increasing call charges. Has anybody actually received this text message?? I am desperate to get away from this awful company so am looking to do what i can!
Neither have I. I enquired why it wasnt on there from page of the press - the guy I phoned could not answer, and then said there number to call is 0870...I laughed and said your giving me an 0870 number to call after all this? Hmmm he said Ill try and connect you through.... he couldnt then I thanks and good bye.
No answers yet again. Phoned CEO Office - asking why my consumer rights where denied to me? Publically they could not comment.
Orange seem to be out of answers but full of actions it seems.0 -
