I've just spoken to someone on 150 and she's saying the same, that because of a lot of bad feedback (they think cancellations are bad feedback, they got something right!! lol) they now aren't going to put in the new charges. So if they are now saying it isn't happening, and it does happen anyway, do we have a leg to stand on? Or will we just have to put up with the new charges.:idea: Jan 09. What's to stop anyone from calling up and cancelling their contract ? There hasn't been any official communication from Orange saying that they are not changing their T&Cs. "Besides" for the press release.
My point is. What about all those people who don't have internet access, received the text message and are calling into Orange to cancel. I'm sure they are in their right to request the changes in writing. I'm sure you don't have to take verbal communication from Customer services....0 -
I have no idea but all I am getting today is that it is not going ahead due to bad feedback.There is a race of men that don't fit in; A race that can't stand still;

has Orange made it official that the proposed changes are not going ahead? or are they just trying to stop people phoning to cancel until the 30 days have passed???!!!0

I cancelled yest afternoon and my sim was disconnected at about 10am this morning. I just wanted to let people know that if you have managed to cancel you can go in to phones 4u and say you have got three months remaining and they will buy your contractr out without checking with orange. I just did and I got £90 cash in hand and a good deal on a new contract with a different network.TOTAL DEBTS
NONE!!!!!0 -
mines all cancelled, so is my mums.....
suppose they think if they dont change the charges people have no reason to cancel....
sooo, tough luck is seems perhaps!THANK MEEE:j0 -

I have no idea but for a big company like this it really does not sound like its all above board! How can someone at orange on the phones who is probably temp staff! say that?!?!? We have contracts in place for a reason we don't have verbal agreements!0 -
You are not the only one! Surely there must be a way that we can use this. At the moment all we are doing is taking their word for it! isn't that why we have contracts so all of this are cleared up!?!?!?
I suggest to the people to cancel their contract as:
1: They have changed the T&C
2: You have only 30 days to cancel from notice of changes
3: Don't take their words on here, there's no official statement from them.
4: I believe you are entitle to cancel even if they withdraw the changes0 -
I've just called orange to cancel the contract, friendly gentleman answered.
His response to me highlighting the proposed changes in the T&C etc was: (not word for word).
"Orange have announced this morning that they will not be making the changes announced to take effect in September, therefore the original contract still stands and you would be unable to end the contract under the condition of the contract being changed."0 -
That is pretty much what I got. Although I was lucky enough to get the reduction on price before that, and according to Orange that will still stand.There is a race of men that don't fit in; A race that can't stand still;
