Orange Price changes ?

If you got the text you had a right to cancel. You still have a right to cancel if its within the 30 day period of receiving the text.
Phone Orange and say: Hey, how are you? I wish to cancel my contract under Communications Act 2003. If they deny say thanks and goodbye. Hang up. Don't get into an arguement with them - if they say no just say goodbye.
Then Phone Ofcom and lodge a complaint about not having your rights under Communications Act 2003. (See above for exactly what to say).
When did you start this contract? I may know of another way round if it was recent.
Are you certain of your position from a legal standpoint, if so where did you get this legal advice? Or is this just your opinion, because if it is just your personal opinion you really need to indicate that.
If your advice is based on the fact that because you haven't had a text message notifying you that Orange are no longer proceeding with the change, then in my view it's not a strong position, section 19 of an Orange contract indicates they can provide you with verbal notice, so when you rang customer services and they told you that they've changed their mind they have provided you with adequate notice under the terms of the contract.0 -

So if Orange can stop people cancelling because they hadn't received 'the text', then surely it should work the same way notifying us that there is no change0 -
Orange_Company_Representative wrote: »Hi all,
I work for Orange, and just wanted to clarify a few points:
- due to customer feedback, we will not be going ahead with the proposed pricing changes.
- anyone who has already requested their PAC code will still get it.
- we will be reviewing all policies and procedures for price changes to make sure that they are clearer in future.
So apologies from Orange for any frustration and confusion caused, this was never our intention.

To everyone who has had confirmation their contract is cancelled and are awaiting their PAC, I strongly advise printing out the page of this forum with the above post.0 -
Orange staff won't comment on Communications Act 2003.
Now time for CEO Office again0 -
Everyone Call and ask for a Deadlock Ref Number and then call CISAS and get them to launch a Formal Investigation0

If you haven't received the text, then you haven't been given notice by Orange of any changes to your contract, I can't see that they'd be required to notify you, that they aren't making a change if they haven't told you they were going to make the change in the first place, if you see what I mean.0 -
A friend of mine had verbal confirmation yesterday (from a supervisor) that her contract was going to be disconnected free of charge due to the changes of T&C (immediate disconnection not PAC). Today she has had a voicemail saying that the changes are not taking place anymore and that her contract is not going to be cancelled. However, she ordered an O2 sim only night last night. Is there anything she can do?0

Guess I am luckly, when i first spotted this post on saturday, it was at 50ish pages, I nearly had a heart attack and thought cancle, cancle, argh!
Then on relfection I looked through all my bills and I have never once gone over my inclusive minutes, despite the fact that sometimes my bill was higher. I had a look around and couldnt find a deal anywhere as near as good as the one I have, so i decided to stop using my mobile internet and turn of my text reports, always phone 0800 or 0845 numbers from someone elses phone and the increase in price wasnt going to effect me.
However I am really pleased to hear that Orange have now back tracked on their decision to increase the charges. I wonder how many people where actually better off cancelling?
Although obviously a lot of people did cancle and managed to scare Orange to death!Debt free since July 2013! Woo hoo! The bank actually laughed when I said I have come in to cancel my overdraft.0 -
