I dowbt it, I rang up this morning and was told by the customer service rep that although I call 08 numbers because the calls were longer than 30 seconds I am not eligable to cancel as I will not be affected by the change

    Which I don't understand at all :S

As surley if the prices had of changed and I continue making 08 number calls I would of still been getting charged more

They told you bullSh*t. Everyone is eligible to cancel and many has which is the reason for their u-turn. It seems that mobile operators are increasingly changing the terms for their benefits recently, virgin was one. I cancelled without problem with a year of contract to go on virgin.

is this just a rouse from orange to stop us cancelling our contract and then theyll just stick the prices up without telling anyone
Replies to posts are always welcome, If I have made a mistake in the post, I am human, tell me nicely and it will be corrected. If your reply cannot be nice, has an underlying issue, or you believe that you are God, please post in another forum. Thank you
  • I too cancelled Thursday night and no pac code yet. Am going to ring today and try to get the pac code as they have already agreed to cancel my contract. This is just one big farce...

  • Hi all,

So here's the official statement from our Press Office:

"Orange recently decided to make changes to contract customers' call charges for out-of-bundle minimum call rate, international calls from the UK and pay-as-you consume data browsing.

However in listening to our customers it became clear that some of them found the messages sent to announce these changes confusing about who would be affected and how. This is obviously not our intention and therefore we have decided not to go ahead with the proposed changes.

It is normal practice for businesses to make pricing changes, and whilst we clearly cannot rule out any future changes we know that transparency and consistency in our policies is extremely important to our customers. Orange apologises to those customers who found the messages unclear and any subsequent misunderstanding this has caused. We will be reviewing all policies and procedures for price changes to make sure that they are clearer in future.

Orange always strives to deliver the best communications and we hope that these steps will overcome any confusion and frustration that our customers felt."

Appreciate there's allot of questions here in the forum, all of which will be fedback to the business, however I'm sorry I won't be able to answer them here.

For account specific questions or to take your questions further please contact Customer Services.

Interesting How I place on here a direct question to him which states people are still legally entitled, and now he will not answer anymore questions

From that release I can foresee them adding stuff about 'there excellent communications' in every advert - to try and re-enforce that point. The reason many are annoyed with Orange!!!!!....and don't get me started again about them denying me my LEGAL CONSUMER RIGHTS!!!! Oops caps key got hit there....weird :D
