Hi
I phoned orange yesterday and after being given all sorts of bull eventually got agreement to terminate, and PAC was to be sent out.
My wife just caled me to say Orange called and siad they are now not changing the conditions and have cancelled my termination process
Where do I stand with this? I was using this as a get out due to poor signal at my new address0 -
Hi all,
So here's the official statement from our Press Office:
"Orange recently decided to make changes to contract customers' call charges for out-of-bundle minimum call rate, international calls from the UK and pay-as-you consume data browsing.
However in listening to our customers it became clear that some of them found the messages sent to announce these changes confusing about who would be affected and how. This is obviously not our intention and therefore we have decided not to go ahead with the proposed changes.
It is normal practice for businesses to make pricing changes, and whilst we clearly cannot rule out any future changes we know that transparency and consistency in our policies is extremely important to our customers. Orange apologises to those customers who found the messages unclear and any subsequent misunderstanding this has caused. We will be reviewing all policies and procedures for price changes to make sure that they are clearer in future.
Orange always strives to deliver the best communications and we hope that these steps will overcome any confusion and frustration that our customers felt."
What a load of BS, this means they have trotted off to see how hey can get round this another way!!! put prices up in smaller amounts but more frequently probably!!!
As for the "Orange strives blah blah blah"
think we all know that's just pure fantasy0 -
Conor
I am sure you are aware of the COMMUNICATIONS ACT 2003, which states'Any proposed Modifications that are not agreed to'
We didnt agree with these modifications, yet we were given 30 Days Notice of the PROPOSED changes.
Example
Someone who got a text on the 3rd of August and was then told today they were not happening, HAD 10 Days to terminate their contract under the above ACT, BUT they were not allowed their right to exercise this.
Dispite there being notes on their account stating they requested disconnection.
I am sure you are aware this is a breach of the above ACT and therefore anyone who has notes on their account between the text and todays date are still LEGALLY entitled to cancel. THIS HAS BEEN LOOKED INTO AND I HAVE HAD THIS CONFIRMED.
So please can you give us a Statement on this Point Please.
Many Thanks
Conor care to comment?
Oh and Orange I do not agree to the withdrawal of the new T&C's. I wish to cancel. Is that clear enough?0 -
I was one of the many who tried to cancel and rudely and abusively told no, I will sit it out til the end of this contract but after dealing with the attitudes of the staff who Orange choose to employ will never take out a contract with them again. I hope many others will also do the same when the time is up on their contracts. This will still affect Orange as thousands of customers were treated badly and many people will remember this when it comes to changing contracts.
I wrote a letter and sent it recorded delivery , they will have received it yesterday, I wonder if I ever get a reply to this now and if I do whether it will just be a standard letter sent to all those who wrote and complained or if they will actually address the points I mentioned and send me a personal reply.0 -

Phone Ofcom - complain. Number: 02079813040.
Get a reference number for the future.
I'm phoning Ofcom now myself again to ask about this one.0 -
just making sure..
I had my contract cancelled and sim disconnected at midnight sunday.. there is no way orange can re-connect and resume this contract now?
just slightly worried and wanted to be sure.
Help is very much appriceated0 -
Just phoned Orange too and got pac code via text. The man on the phone did say the new terms and conditions would not be going ahead but I said as I have already agreed to cancel can you text it to me and they did whilst I was on the phone with them.0

I was entitled to cancel when I rang a week ago but was told that because I’d signed up with them on the 8/7/09 that I’d agreed to the new charges as it applied to all new contracts signed from June 09. It turns out this wasn’t the case and I was lied to. The terms and conditions linked to my account clearly show the price increase on page 15, http://www1.orange.co.uk/service_plans/downloads/PAYM_PriceGuidev29%28July09%29.pdf
I am furious that I should have been allowed to cancel but my rights were illegally ignored. I wonder if I still have the right to cancel as I was entitled to a week ago but wasn’t allowed to do so. I recorded the call so have proof of what I was told.
Orange no doubt broke the law hundreds or even thousands of times over the last few weeks telling lies to customers. I wonder how this would stand in court.
Orange are lying scum. I really wish I’d stayed with T-Mobile now. Orange will not have my custom once my contract runs out in 23 months.
To Orange. You have broken the law not allowing people to cancel when they were entitled to by law. I hope Ofcom fine you so much you have to go into liquidation!0 -

Phone 02079813040 and ask for Darren.
Hey spoke to them kinda on your behalf. My view is that you had a verbal agreement with them yesterday and they have went back on that verbal agreement.
But what surprised me is this apparently is a merging pattern by Orange. What the hell are they playing at now?0 -
Hey all
I am new here and just wanted to post about this.
I tried to cancel my contract this morning but told I can not now due to changing the T&C etc. I wasn't really told this in a nice way, well this is not the first time.
When I first started my contract I took out a deal online, what one it was I can't remember now but I remember it had unlimted texts. When I got all my details through it showed as only 500 texts per month. So I contacted the CS and said is this correct? They said yes you only get 500 texts a month, but I said I signed up for unlimted texts a month he said well you can't of done because this is what is on my screen. Great stuff. He then said it's not like your going to use all them texts a month anyway...
Great CS Orange. I want off this contract. I want someone who can give me a good contract, but with a great CS which Orange have not got.
I have to now wait to get off this contract which is May 2010. I will be watching this thread very closely and see what happens with this, because I am not happy with Orange at all.
My first post and it's a moan.. Sorry0
