I work for Orange, and just wanted to clarify a few points:
- due to customer feedback, we will not be going ahead with the proposed pricing changes.
- anyone who has already requested their PAC code will still get it.
- we will be reviewing all policies and procedures for price changes to make sure that they are clearer in future.
So apologies from Orange for any frustration and confusion caused, this was never our intention.
Conor
A question for you.
I've got two numbers on the one account. Was told yesterday that they would send out a PAC code for one of the numbers but the other number wasn't valid for early cancellation, due to it not using 08 numbers and not going over the minutes. But after reviewing the bills I've noticed that that number has called 08 numbers so therefore should be valid for the cancellation.....
So can I call back and say the request I put in yesterday should be valid for both numbers..... Hope this makes sense lol0 -

My "personal opinion" of this:
- (1) Too many people were leaving us...had to stop that
- (2) We bought the law book this time and read it - yeh you win
- (3) Yeh ok Ill admit it again - consumers won...we messed up but do not fear, we will not admit it
"frustration and confusion caused" = We didn't mean to deny you your consumer rights to cancel, we just well read the cliff notes of the law - still now going to admit guilt and wrongness though(Notice my legal terminology though - wrongness, haha. Oh yeh remember the law doesn't apply to us - wrongness means whatever we want
)
Legal Disclaimer: This is just my opinion of this and should not be taken seriously. Enjoy the laugh and if you offended by it I shall remove it at request.
Again this is my "personal opinion" of this post.0 -

Thanks for the up-date Connor.
Can you also tell us if an official statement will be forthcoming, appologising for those Orange customer service reps who were unbeleivably rude and arogant to customers?
Oh and the fact that they were quoting false statements such as "this change has been run past OFCOM and we are well within our rights to proceed with the change in charges"0 -
What about customers who were denied there consumer right to cancel? Do they still get to cancel? Or are you awaiting word from Ofcom?
No, the changes are not going ahead, therefore no-one will be affected.

If you have already ported or are awaiting your PAC code, you will not be asked to re-initiate your contract.

I dowbt it, I rang up this morning and was told by the customer service rep that although I call 08 numbers because the calls were longer than 30 seconds I am not eligable to cancel as I will not be affected by the change
Which I don't understand at all :S
As surley if the prices had of changed and I continue making 08 number calls I would of still been getting charged more0 -
Conor,
Avoided my question. I believe my consumer rights were denied by Orange - what do you say to that?0
