Sounds like one of those 'surrendered' wives. Aka, under the thumb.

I wish. I would love to be a kept woman!!

I actually went in to remind her a few times not to read etc as it would wind her dad up. She came out of her room a couple of times and I sent her back in. She might of thought it, but she wouldnt do it. Like I said I have good kids.

    No, you have frightened children.

Actually, I don't think that is true.

I don't think the situation is nowhere near as bad as people read into it. The OP goes from extreme to extreme. From extreme "good" to extreme "bad"

If the DD is smart - she read the book anyway, but because her mother was backing the father didn't let her know either. I would:T

[QUOTE=Minxy_Bella;23372067. I'm even more convinced you're a troll now - cheered right up, haven't you? Now you've got a row on the boil.

    [/QUOTE]

I have cheered up as I have had some nice replies, especially from the fellas who are like my OH and mean well. It has made me see that I have contributed to this in my own way and that maybe the solution is within me.

I felt powerless when I first posted, now I feel hope.

I think he compromises a lot to be honest. He stays in a job he hates to support me and the kids for example

OP - Do you think you OH is jealous of your relationship with the children?
Could this be the trigger for his OTT reactions?

Yes. This has all started really when I went back to work. He thinks I do too much for them and we dont spend much time together because of the kids.

I on the other hand feel guilty for working and try to keep things as they were.
