his may sound a daft question...hubby is in italy at the mo with his 3 dongle with a uk sim. we didnt know they were switching the roaming off so now he is stuck.....questions.....would an italian 3 payg sim work in the dongle without unlocking? and how easy would it be to get one? is it just a matter of walking in a 3 shop and asking for one? i had read somewhere they want you to have an italian address or is this just for contract?
    cheers hannah

Have a look at this page: http://www.prepaidgsm.net/en/italy.html (scroll down to the section marked Codice Fiscale, what's that?)

It's a financial equivalent to national insurance number, you need this for most financial transactions or anything official (opening a bank account, buying a house, taking out a loan etc). In Italy it is provided by Agenzia delle Entrate (Inland Revenue) but in UK you can get a number from the Italian consulate, got mine within 10 days. Google Italian Consulate Manchester and under Application Forms you will find a link to a PDF.

    good day,

i took out a 24 monbth contract with 3 mobile broadband a few months ago it included a free net book and 5 gb usage for £25 a month. they have been charging me 35 a month since i opened it. i have rang them numerous times and they tell me im paying 15 a month for the broadband and 20 a month for the laptop. Staples (where i got it from) have told me this is not the case, the only deal they have ever done with my (low spec) netbook is 25 a month. they even rang 3 on my behalf but 3 are still saying the deal i am put on to is 35 a month, staples have been very helpful trying to get through to them that im meant to be paying 25 a month but its getting me nowhere,

can i cancel my contract without it getting ugly as they are taking £10 a month more then i signed up to, over 24 months its 240 quid, and its only a crappy laptop!!

    hope you can help

you will have it in writing that you bought a £25/month contract, just fax them a copy of that

ask staples if they have any of the paper work that they must have had instore at the time. Leaflets and posters etc that they display with the deals .

How can a mobile contract not state the monthly rental? If so why on earth did you sign it?
Sounds like Staples will be more than content with this as they will get their commission for mis-selling to you with no way of you proving what they said.
No free lunch, and no free laptop ;)

I am in the middle of trying 2 get out of an 18 month contract with 3 - AWFUL service - would never recommend them to anyone - it is true what they say about you get what you pay. I am in the middle of my complaint going through the communication ombudsmen - OTELO. 3 would not cancel it without me paying off the rest of the contract first.
