  • Do you plug the dongle directly into a USB port, or keep it on the supplied cable? A 3 shop advised me that the latter is best, as it prevents overheating which can cause connection problems.

  • I am having problems since Saturday. I can only access the GPRS 3(R) network whatever that is? It is painfully slow. I can't get on the normal GPRS network or HSDPA network which usually works well.

    Hi All,
Appologies if this is an old question, but I am getting nowhere with this.

Work provide me with a 3 Mobile Broadband dongle. In July I rang to see if I could reduce the monthly payments (£35). The guy said, "sure, no problems. We'll upgrade your account with a new dongle and place you on a £15 pcm deal". Great.
My old contract runs out on 2 October 2009 and the letter I received from 3 about the upgrade said that the new 'upgraded' contract would be in effect from 3 October 2009.
Having thought about when and how I use mobile broadband I decided to scrap the idea and called, but the guy I spoke to said that I could not cancel..

Can anybody advise if I can cancel as the new contract has not started yet??

    Thanks
    N
  • What sort of dongle have you got? If PAYG, could you have used up the allowance and 3 have blocked the SIM?

  • I found this:

"On your 3connect software, go to settings>advanced settings,
click on connection, click on 3connect, then properties,
under the general tab, click on properties again.

Itll show you a number of tabs, the first one, 3G, where it says PDP type, make sure that says ip, click ok and try dialing again. "

I too was a user of 3 shoddy mobile broadband on a MAC - it really does not seem 2b catered for MAC users - they do not have the text sending service nor can you view the usage per month.

    totally awful!

but in response to your question then you should be able to do this yes.
