TalkTalk Broadband. Yes or No?

I'm sure there was a story in the news at the weekend about free broadband from TalkTalk... if you have your landline with them. Did anyone else hear it? The news story said that TalkTalk would be making the announcement tomorrow.
I think for some people (me?) this may be a very good deal. I am a light internet user at home so this might suit.
However, I've noticed that people here aren't very happy with TalkTalk broadband so I consider myself warned.
It will be interesting to see how their service copes!

New and happy to be here!0 -
My sister and cousin have been on TalkTalk for broadband and calls for over a year and are really happy, my cousin was previously on AOL and said he had nothing but trouble and cant praise TalkTalk enough. I read in the financial times 2 weeks ago it was going to be #19.99 a mth for your line rental, all landline calls and unlimited broadband for life! Ive currently got Telewest but in anticipation of this ive just connected a BT line as well as my line and internet cost me #29.00 a mth and get no free calls with Telewest.0

Yes it was the Sunday Times lead article in the Business section. This should get you there...

Basically there is going to be an announcement tomorrow with the full details but I don't think it will be rolled out until the 4 July.
From what I read, you will get free broadband (saving c£15) if you have a TalkTalk phone line which is an excellent offer, especially for those who don't use broadband much and don't want to pay £15 a month for it but would like it so when they do go onto the internet it is faster than the proverbial snail!0 -
Everything is launched tomorrow, they've been building up to this for months so (well this is what they tell us shop staff) they've got alot more staff in call centres etc and have re-trained the lot, admitting that they were useless before. Just been on the phone to my other half (who also works instore for cpw) and he says its been manic with people asking about it, so should be interesting. Even if you dont want to be with TT it should bring alot of other prices down further.0

3gb one day a light user? How much do you download?!
Most people won't use more than 3gb in 3 months.
You will find most people will use more than 3gb in 3 months I mistook the 3GB in one day for 3gb in a week or a month, I forget which now.
I don't download as much as I did, but you will use more then you think.
When you are streaming radio or TV, this can use up a fair amount. I no longer have a phone line, so all my calls are using VoIP this can use a fair amount too.
I used to download a few TV series every week.
20GB a month is nothing, and is easily achievable without even trying. It's PAC not PAC Code, it's MAC not MAC Code, it's PIN not PIN Number, it's ATM not ATM Machine, it's LCD not LCD Display, it's DVD not DVD disc... It's no one not noone, It's a lot not alot, It's got not gotten... Panini is the plural of panino - there is no S!!(OK my English isn't great, the sciences, maths & IT are my strong points!)0 -
Just been on the TalkTalk website but it tells me to come back on Tuesday 11th April to '' be amazed! '' Lets hope so. I've got my landline with them so might be interested in swithing my broadband too. It'll have to be a good deal though. I've been reading to many bad reports on this site.0

They are planning on giving people free broadband.
For most people even free isn't good enough, they would need to pay me hundreds of pounds before I might consider it, and then I wouldn't give up my Telewest broadband.
They are bad enough now, you can image how much they will shape the traffic and throw people off if the download more than a few GB a month. It's PAC not PAC Code, it's MAC not MAC Code, it's PIN not PIN Number, it's ATM not ATM Machine, it's LCD not LCD Display, it's DVD not DVD disc...
