Just requested MAC today to move away from TalkTalk to Be Broadband - 24MBps. Woohoo0 -
Hopefully, I will get it OK - still very hopeful! I called yesterday evening about 6:30 on the 0800 number, spoke to a guy and requested MAC. He said my 12 month contract was due to end 28/04/06. Checked my email address on record and he sent out a weblink.
Went to the website, filled in the disconnection form and then pressed submit. Just waiting now for them to get in touch with the PAC - they said it could take up to 14 days...0 -
i'm on the 1 Meg service, and i'm perfectly happy with the service. Only prob is they have blocked bittorrent.....0

no probs here either... very good...
I dont download alot regularly due to work e.t.c today I have downloaded 3gb alone...
no letters or anything..:beer:0 -
3gb is nothing, so you won't get a letter for such a piddling amount, you have no worries there, you are the type of person they want, someone who is an extremely light user.
TalkTalk have always managed BitTorrent traffic, granted recently not as much as when they first started out, when it was managed so much traffic would be at best 0.5k/s.It's PAC not PAC Code, it's MAC not MAC Code, it's PIN not PIN Number, it's ATM not ATM Machine, it's LCD not LCD Display, it's DVD not DVD disc... It's no one not noone, It's a lot not alot, It's got not gotten... Panini is the plural of panino - there is no S!!(OK my English isn't great, the sciences, maths & IT are my strong points!)0 -
If you use BitComet and enable 'Protocol Header Encrypt', apparantly it gets around TalkTalk's blocking and you get decent speed. :rotfl:0

But then they'll probably eject you for excessive usage. It's a chuckle to pull the wool over their eyes, but a byte is a byte, and they all add up whether you use encryption or not. And isn't there an inherent overhead with encryption anyway? So you're most likely transferring more data than you were previously, and thus you're possibly an even bigger blip on their radar.0

If you take the !!!!!!, then of course they will probably take action. My usage for everything (including BitComet) is probably 1GB or less per week, so as long as the connection is as fast as they've advertised (achieved by defeating their limiter) then I couldn't care less.0

If you get their phone service which I think you have to if you want their bb, can use 1899, 18866 or Primus on their lines?0

3gb one day a light user? How much do you download?!
Most people won't use more than 3gb in 3 months.0
