Ugh. Have been feeling a bit queasy for last few hours, with slightly dodgy tummy. Hope I'm feeling better later, cos am supposed to be going out to the opera (freebie tickets) this evening. Also have a portion of last night's v.nice pasta bake for my lunch, which I can't face ATM.

Dodgy tummy might be something to do with the 3 glasses of wine and 2 large vodka & tonics which I had last night :o but TBH it doesn't feel like a hangover - and I wasn't feeling rough first thing  Suspect it might be psychosomatic cos I've been worrying about Grandma. But I bet the alcohol didn't help!

Mum has had no news about her (Auntie H hasn't been in touch from the care home, so at least we know that nothing drastic has happened) but has had some great news about her own health - she went for a bone scan recently to find out what effect her osteoporosis medication has been having, and today she was told that the scan showed that things have improved enormously! (She has to share this sort of news with me, cos she won't tell her sisters that she's been diagnosed with it, even though they all have it too  - she knows they will interfere, esp. Auntie R who is a doctor specialising in age related bone conditions!)

Hi Yall, a bright and breezy day here on the East Coast. I'm tapping away on a library computer which I think is powered by and elastic band and a lot of good will so just a little post to let you know I'm still alive. LOL I've read my PM's by the way - thank you.

I've done no OS at all for the last week or so and have felt no shame as I've slashed the bags of oven chips open and turned out boxes of frozen meat pies to waiting baking sheets. We are on first name terms with the peeps in the local chippy and the CHinese Takaway have put me on their Chirstmas Card list!
We're doing plenty of beach walking and swimming so it's not all extravagent living tho. LOL

Gotta go and check my paid2click accounts and see if any have matured. I probably won't have much time to post next week when I'm back in the emids cos I've got to sort the house (Mrs MATH was left unsupervised for 5 days:eek: ) and sort all the washing for coming back here for May Day weekend. MIL is going into hospital on Tuesday to start her treatment too so things could get a bit busy. I'll pop on when I can - Luv and hugs to all me OS mates (hope you all had a good Easter)

Ewww it's like Piccadilly Circus in here today! Lots of action, lots of posts, it's great!

PurplePrincess...I noticed you said you were feeling a bit down on Sunday - well, I hope that has passed and that it's nothing lasting. But if there is something bugging you which you want to have a vent about don't forget your MSE friends as we are all here to listen, and offer advice if that's what you want.

Bargain Rzl - maybe some Milk of Magnesia or Rennies might help you? At the very least drink lots of water and try and flush whatever it is out of your system. You don't want to be missing the opera when you've got a lovely free ticket.

Today I've been out for a long walk - went to a forest park which is situated right on the coast about 10 mins away. Walked for about an hour up some steepish hills and down again the other side. My body is definitely upset with me that I had such a lazy winter - my ankles hurt, my hips hurt, my back hurt, my face was all red from the exertion. And this is the person who ran the Flora 5k in Hyde Park a couple of years ago. Disgraceful. Must do more exercise and must get some weight off. Ancasta, oooo I am sooooo jealous...it's all your own hard work I know but where do you get motivation from? I chucked my scales away years ago - I used to be whippet skinny but that was because I was totally obsessed, so the scales had to go to break the dreadful cycle of bad habits I was in. Ain't whippet skinny now I can tell ya, more like a [STRIKE]baby[/STRIKE] mother elephant! I don't especially want the old bad habits back but I'm not too fond of looking like Mrs Mitchelin either.

Did I mention I've got an essay to write? Er no, excuse me, slip of the fingers but I've got two essays to write. Have I started either of them? Ha ha - NOOOOO!!! Have to give myself a kick up the jacksi, somebody please yell at me if you happen to notice me lurking later.

    Bye!

Pooky - I have had to contact MR twice about broken handles. I think it must be some sort of design fault TBH as I never leave them up-ended on the lid, always store it with its lid on and with nothing stood on it - yet they lasted about 4 months. However, I had absolutely no problems with them sending a new handle out to me.

We also have had an 'everything go wrong' kinda 2 weeks. it will be just my luck that the handle on my SC will break again tonight :D (touches wood quickly LOL)

DS2 has come down with this virus again. He had a bad night - in with me all night but is currently asleep on the settee with a temperature and a bucketful of calpol inside him. Bless, he's been asleep nearly 2 hours now which is unheard of.

Soapnuts are on their 3rd load now and I'm very pleased with them. Everything looks clean but I'll get a better look when I iron them. BM has just finished and CQ's base sauce is defrosting for a turkey curry tonight. The car boot is packed for when I get 10 mins to go to the tip and recycle all my cardboard/ditch the junk. My spare bedroom is gleaming as I've a friend coming to stay tomorrow night - lots of wine and girlie chats late into the night I expect :D

Right-oh - best go and check on DS2. If I'm lucky he may drink some complan - apart from chocolate, he's not eating much (the amazing restorative powers of choccy eggs, eh? :D)
