Have just introduced my self on the intros thread so thought i'd better start as I mean to go on and post here too!

Am off work today, feeling a little poorly was a bug squiffy in the night

Well for me, this weekend has really been the propper start of me and OS.

I have always cooked my food from scratch anyway but needed to make more effort.

With it being the long BH weekend, I thought i'd get started!

Friday night I cooked HM Tuna fishcakes
    Saturday HM curry
Sunday HM Cheese scones and HM Raspberry and White chocolate muffins - plus chopped all the veg for the Beef cobbler for Monday. Also chopped some carrots and onions for when I make chicken parcels on Wednesday/Thursday!
Monday HM Fruit scones and HM Beef Cobbler from the mega index.

I spend a fair while on Saturday cleaning the greenhouse ready to add my seedlings which I had already planted and were in the house. Cleaned down an old garden table with stardrops which has bought it up fairly clean so I can use this for planting.

OD, SS and I went to mum's for Sunday lunch which we do every week so I took some of the cheese scones for a pudding/mum's tea.

Yesterday, I got up and put all the ingredients in the SC for the cobbler then took my mum shopping.

Managed to get some real bargains in Tesco which I have frozen - Scotch pancakes - the boys love and bread etc.

OH and SS have gone to Drayton manor today as OH goes back to work tomorrow - so will I if I feel better and SS goes back to his mums until Saturday. Made them sandwiches to take with them - save money from buying whilst there (used the reduced bread from Tesco yesterday plus scones and muffins!)

Off to mum's for tea tonight - just us two girls - and the dog!

And that's me and my last few first proper OS days!

Sorry it's long, i'm just really excited!!

Happy Birthday Prudent and Skipkoo :bdaycake:

Chipps you've just reminded me that I have written out my budget for next month yet either and DH gets paid on Thursday so I ought to go and find out how much money we wont have this month. :wall:

Ticklemouse....I know how you feel, although DH is a lot better now mainly because hes only allowed one card with £50 to spend each month.

VickyA - I'm afraid its not very sunny in Lincoln at the moment, I hope your Grandpa gets better quickly. And I agree its such a pain to pay at the hospital the car park costs a fortune.

Well I just thought I'd pop on and catch up with everyone as I've been really busy with various things the last few weeks.

Currently feeling skint and grumpy well only when I'm naval gazing (sp?) the rest of the time I'm fine. My friends are over from the states so we saw them at Church on Sunday which was really nice and we are going to see them on Thursday to have a proper catch up.

Hold on a sec munch wants some more chocolate.....right I'm back she decided on a banana instead lol.

Three baskets of ironing done today and one load in the DW. Can't hang any washing out as its raining on and off.

Some exciting news is that I went to look at an allotment plot last week and have filled in an online rental request for a plot that I really like so hopefully when the council go back to work tomorrow that will get sorted out. Its quite a big plot about 18ft wide by 70ft long so plenty of space for loads of veggies which is a good job as it will hopefully save me a lot of money and be fun for me and munch at the same time. :p

Right well I best get off, I hope everyone has a good day. :A

Snowy... its the sheer motivation of refusing to look like a fat b**ch in my wedding dress, and wanting to looks stunning in my photos.

And im getting p'd off that all my retro and vintage 1950's clothes are sitting in storage since i no longer fit in them. pfffft. i want the prettiness back!

Ah...well no danger of that happening to me! Been on the shelf so long I am growing roots. But you keep going, it's fabulous that you're having such a postive effect on yourself. Just remember to stop when it's the right time to stop...don't want your bum and boobs disappearing...

Don't get p'ed off about your 50's gear - how about altering some of it, or (you're gonna hate me!) sell some on ebay and with the proceeds buy similar but in three (or is it four!?) sizes smaller. And there may be some styles that are going to look absolutely stunning on you now that, perhaps, wouldn't have been so flattering when you were four stone heavier?

WELCOME to nuttyrockeress and WELCOME BACK mossy (I was just wondering the other day where you'd disappeared to).

Snowy - am feeling a lot better now actually. As TM said, it's astonishing what a bit of chocolate can do :D (boss was in New York over the weekend and brought back some Hershey thingies - I don't like the milk choc ones but the dark choc ones are yummy  I helped myself to three or four because I didn't get any of the previous lot of treats my boss brought in (on account of having given up chocolate for Lent) :D

VickyA - I hope your Grandpa gets well soon - sounds like he's on the mend and doing a lot better than my Grandma.

Know how you feel. I lost about 2 and half stone in 2 months to fit in to my wedding dress.

It was either that or wear bin liners. Could have done with a losing a bit more though. We choose at christmas to get married the day before are wedding licence ran out which was March the 4th.:rotfl:

So I did not have a lot of time really.

Shame I put it back on then some. Ho hum never mind. Better knuckle down to losing some more.

Just think of how stunning you will look on your wedding day.

    Hi

Have not been on in ages. I met a member off here yesterday. I offered something on the local freecycle and when they came to collect we invited them in. I asked if they were the green family as he is into using cooking oil for fuel and more and she was into freecycle etc. I mentioned this site and they were a little addicted to it by what they said!

Strange how you can meet people ain't it?

    Hi again :hello:

I'm back from Lincoln. Grandpa looks quite old, well he is 90, but he seems to have "aged" quite quickly. I've also never seen him in his jimjams either. Made him look like a little old ill man. Plus he fell out of bed last night  trying to get a drink of water. It doesn't really help when the rest of the ward is full of old, ill men! :( Apparently when he went in to hospital, they think he had pneumonia.

The physio came to "assess" him with a view to him going home tomorrow. They wanted to see how he could cope with stairs............. apparently he practically sprinted up them! He was also using a zimmer frame to get around, but he definitely didn't need it so they've given him a stick...... that he doesn't really need either.

Anyway, OH is going to cook tea in a minute so I'll go for now!

    Vicky

PS Is it just me, but when you hear the word "pneumonia" do you think it's actually "new monia". Gets me everytime!

Arghhhhhhhhhhh just got back from the dentist. Charged both of us £15.50 but I didn't get a scale and polish but husband did

And claims I need to go back for a scale and polish and a filling. Never heard anything so stupid in my life. I am going to be a wreck as it is by getting a filling let alone a scale and polish as well. Which I am sure I am going to be charged extra for.

Think I am going to find out if I can go back to my old dentist. Even if it is 60 mile round trip.

My husband found out from another guy in the waiting room that he has been 4 times and had a different dentist each time.

Not a happy bunny at all. But apart from that all is well.
