I have spoken with my granddaughter today and have told her that she was very brave to tell me what had happened ,I then asked her why she had not told her father what had happened and the answer she gave is to me just as worrying as what happened ,her reply was well my brother said that if I told my daddy then daddy would get the belt out and beat me with it because he would say that I was telling lies ,and seeing as she had witnessed her father hitting her brother with a belt she believed that this would happen to her .
I have now lost a lot of my compassion towards her brother my little granddaughter spent a whole week looked in a room at night with her half brother feeling lost and frightened and could not let any one know .
I am now going to the police and am going to insist that they act I am also going to contact social services and demand action .0
