Samara abandoned ship long ago. Her replacements seem to have given up on this thread.

But read the thread and see that speaking to them direct has brought good offers to stay if that's what you are after.

£4.50/month now reported as a retention deal easily obtained.

And this was on the more expensive 20GB package.

Thanks a lot Quentin for your answer. I guess it's a good point that i hadn't had to contact Samara as i haven't had any probs with the service for almost a year. I'm waiting for them to call me back with an offer so will see what they come up with ... but now thanks to you i've got better amnunitions..;)

From my experience, you do need to keep every e-mail/ticket you get regarding contracts - when you go back to them with a query months later, they are quick to deny anything that you know was specially agreed - until you produce the evidence.

Once they even told me, (when I produced the "proof"), "that e-mail was wrong, it was a human error on our part and doesn't count". That seems to be the first line's attitude, and escalation always needed to get to someone able to resolve matters.

MAAF proudly points out its membership of the ISPA on its home page. It has this to say about it:
we agree to abide by the ISPA UK Code. This allegiance to the Code means that you can view the ISPA UK logo as a mark of commitment to good business practice

They have the ISPA logo on their site. (Maybe under false pretences).

When you look into this, the ISPA does not list MAAF as having membership with them at all:

    http://www.ispa.org.uk/cgi-bin/member_list.cgi

And they have logos on their home page claiming 2 ISPA awards. When you click on these logos regarding the awards, you get taken to an ISPA page with "error - page does not exist".

    All very strange!

Got my call back yday. Nice lady and i didn't really had to say much... she went off to ask her supervisor and came back with £4.49 per month for 8GB.. which is more than I need really so didn't want to argue about the 20GB Quentin mentioned... I was paying £15.99 so I'm well happy... Phoned Vodafone and also managed to reduce my monthly payments there so a good saving day... well needed unfortunately!!
    So thanks for advice.

Thats good - and worth anyone bearing in mind tempted to switch to plusnet's £6 deal!

£4.50 looks to be easily obtained.

No wonder the reps used to want all this done by private message. They were managing to make us think they were doing us "specials", when it seems so easy to just speak to them direct and get a much cheaper deal!

tried to get this deal after research from my post #2178.

MAAF said they could not get me the £4.50 deal as my exchange wasn't geared up to dealing with the competition. I live out in the sticks you see.

However, I did get the £7.50 deal and a new wireless router. So I guess I got the best I could without having to move home!!

I am into my 3rd year now with MAAF.
Last year, they gave me 50GB on £14.99.
However, when I called few weeks ago, the chap just won't give me any deal.
I don't need 50GB, I just want the price to be as low as possible for 10Gb or something like that.
    What should I do?
I think I will call them again on Monday. If they are not giving it, I am going to go for Plusnet.
