Have a good holiday Samara.

Hi Samara (or standin)
If I am on an LLU exchange with Wanadoo can I change over to Madasafish without having to cancel my broadband, get BT to change me back to normal ADSL and then join Madasafish ?

Morning Lucidamike,
It is quite timely that you ask such a question.
BT Wholesale is launching a trial to migrate LLU broadband circuits to BT IPstream services which is due to start on 1st July. If you request a MAC key from Wanadoo (Orange) on 1st July then send it to Samara (Subject Line Attn: Samara) at custserve@madasafish.com, we'll check that it is the correct and compatible format for an LLU migration. We’ll confirm either way and hopefully give you the green light to sign up for the Madasafish Broadband service, which should be a seamless migration from your existing provider.
Is your landline phone rental with BT or Wanadoo? If it’s with Wanadoo (Orange), unfortunately, you'll need to cancel your service before registering for a new broadband service with a new provider.
I hope this helps.
Regards

Thanks
I have already received a MAC code from Wanadoo - will I need to ask for another one ? (I am still with BT for my phone line)

Do you want to e-mail the MAC code to me (Subject Attn: Liam) at the marketing@brightview.com e-mail address. I'll check it and get back to you in the morning. I suspect you might need another code, but lets check the one you have first.

Your £11.99 package looks good aside from the price hike after 6 months and the puny 5GB usage - I've used 6 so far this month on Plusnet which allows unlimited usage offpeak for £14.99.
Is madasafish going to increase spec/lower prices with this whole post-July trial thing that BT's doing??0 -
Oh another thing, at the bottom of your page, you state:Customer Care: 0870 160 1386 | Technical Support: 0870 160 1387 - Calls charged at National Rate
There is no such thing as National Rate - ask the peeps on the Home Phones board and they'll rip ya to shreds. You should say up to 8p per minute as that's what OfCOM advises0 -
Hi Crabman,
The offer from Plusnet is 3GB a month for usage at peak hours (4pm - midnight), where the Network Traffic is also prioritised i.e. restricting P2P and Usenet usage.
THe Offpeak usage isn't unlimited either, its actually 50GB a month, which is great deal less than unlimited! Fair enough the Network Traffic Management might not apply at these times, but then again who can be sure. Bandwidth isn't free remember.
Madasafish's 5GB monhly usage allowance is more than adequate for the vast majority of users. We are reviewing the options to increase the usage allowance, particularly at offpeak times, but can't give you any guarantee this will be available in July.
The 0870 number is due to be replaced with the new 0844 number range next month. I've called OFCOM to check the "National Rate" point, but getting through is even more difficult than Plusnet's support centre (i've just called both).
By the way have you seen The Guardian today? ADSLguide.org feature Madasafish Broadband in the "six of the best" broadband services.

I must confess I did download a lot of stuff last month - 20GB in total all offpeak and Plusnet didn't send a warning email at all.My peak usage between 4pm and 12midnight was 3.83GB which was just through web browsing, emails, streaming content. I notice Plusnet have now increased the peak limit to 4.5GB I notice
If you had a similar off-peak band to Plusnet where I could do downloads when your networks are less busy, without worrying about the 5GB limit, then I'd definitely be considering your ISP.Any dates for increases in bandwith/usage??

No problem, I appreciate that its easy to go over a 5GB allowance. If you can leave it with me, i'll try and post and update tomorrow on Madasafish usage.
