I haven't the time to read too many pages but quickly:
1)Is there still a rep reading this thread?
2)If so are people able to get decent retention offers still?
3) Anyone else been stung with a bill nearly double the usual?
Will check answers to post before ringing up.
( just started going back to page 106.....I think maybe answers to qus 1 and 2 might become clear)0 -
They have stopped helping out here.
The rep did have this to say about retention offers:I've received a number of PMs requesting offers on recontracting. A better way to do this would be to call our dedicated team on 0845 140 6002 - I can't offer anything that they can't and they have more up to date information than I do.0 -
Or you can raise a "ticket" to CS through your account to negotiate a new contract. I've just agreed to a further 12 months (3rd year) at what I think is a reasonable monthly cost. I don't really have many options for broadband through my exchange, it's solely BT's equipment with nil chance of any LLU operators or cable ever! So if I started with another provider then it would cost a lot more/month as a new customer than the new MAAF payments.0

See post 2142 above where a "ticket" exchange got them down to £7.50/month to stay.0

My 12 month contract with MAAF ends on 23/03/09 so requested my mac code. They have sent me this today but also reckon if I move I owe them the following:
There are some outstanding fees on your account:
Details:
- Deferred Hardware: 60.00
- Deferred Activation: 40.96
- Subscription charge covering period between
next invoice and 30 days notice from cancellation request (6 days).: 5.09
- Madasafish Max Plus Broadband (Cancellation): 25.44
Looks like they are trying to charge me for the wireless router they supplied me with 12 months ago but unsure what the rest of the charges are. Whatever they are they can stick them up their a*se.
Anyone with similar charges/problems when trying to migrate?0 -
Your problem seems to be you are leaving within the minimum 12 month period, which allows them to add on all these charges.
To avoid them, cancel the MAC request, wait till you have completed 11 months, then atart again, giving in your notice to quit and requesting a MAC.0 -

My contract ends (according to MAAF) on 26/03/09. The payment for my twelfth month will leave my bank account any day now, the invoice for the coming month has been generated & shows as pending in the My Account section.0 -
Are we not within a month of 23/03...? Looks to me as though MAAF are trying to pull a fast one!0
