Just received confirmation from madasafish that they are passing on the VAT reduction for my broadband contract...
"With reply to your latest Query. I can assure you that the cheaper tariff is of the £9.99. Your new invoice will be for £9.77 with Vat."
Not the best use of english language but confirmation nonetheless... :j Every little helps...0 -
well I tried to call my mum on her MAAF line last night, the line clicked and made a strange noise, the line was constantly engaged for about an hour - after trying until 10pm I decided to call her mobile.
We ascertained that there was a problem with the line - I told her I would report it for her.
I phoned MAAF who told me that there wasn't a problem but he would call her and tell her to call me (this is after I told MAAF that I couldn't get through).
I phoned mum on her mobile, she'd been informed by the next door neighbour that the whole area was 'down' and that BT were dealing with it.
Tell me, how come MAAF didn't know this? and how come MAAF think that they can get through to my mum when I couldn't?0 -
Hi
Who is representing MAAF on this site these days? I am not getting any response from Matt Taylor.
Thanks.

Hi Peter,
It is interesting to see that BT is using its low cost brand to trial new pricing structures, while keeping its own direct numpties paying through the nose?
It became pretty obvious that the owners of MAAF had sold out to BT for the money, and then Samara left.
(I am feeling like a Diamond Cable customer who was taken over by NTL (R.I.P.)).
Now that Plus+net is running the show, its looking like MAAF customers (are we the only two left?) are now the poor relations and the job for the junior boy at Plus+net.?!?.
My take is here:

So I have got a suggestion for you: pop over to thinkbroadband and see if there is still any MAAF support over there.
Let us know if you get any further intelligence from the MAAF thread on thinkbroadband - those guys tend to be a bit more tech savvy so you might get some more insider information over there.
HERE IS AN OPEN QUESTION to PLUS+NET:
Are you going to offer us MAAF people a dedicated offer to switch us over to the low cost Plus+Net offer.
[ie a dedicated person on this forum to sort out the MAC c0ck-ups and none of the nonsense about what day of the week it is when give notice to MAAF]
?????????????????????????????????????
Harry.
PS An afterthought can all us loyal customers qualify for a finders fee for offering each other an introduction to Plus+net;) ?0 -

No Harry, it looks like there are at least three of us!
I sent a PM to Matt Taylor some time ago re e-mailing problems and never received a reply. So it would seem they've deserted this forum completely?
I did get a better response by opening a Tech "ticket" with MAAF - in fact the replies were fast but inaccurate. The problem was at their end but they said it had been fixed when it hadn't.
Unfortunately the Plusnet low cost (£5.99?) offer is no good to me as my exchange doesn't qualify, is a bit too rural and clogged with tumbleweed!
My MAAF 2nd anniversary is here soon but I'm inclined to stay if they can hopefully come up with a bit lower price than my current, which is not too bad anyway (fortunately 5Gb/month is more than adequate for my requirements).
I've really had no problems at all in two years with mostly good speeds, especially considering location, and total reliability. (except for the recent minor e-mail problem).0 -
Yes BT Wholesale has cut the prices in exchanges where there is competition from Local Loop Unbundling offerings.
What does Samknows say about your exchange? It sounds like you still have operators polishing the plugs between routing calls.:D
So much for the "universal provision" undertaking that the government is proposing.
In the last 2 years I've had several problems that needed sorting out, but with the support here they have been fixed.
I currently have a "drop out" problem. This is almost certainly down to BT messing with the old overloaded copper local loop.
What does samknows say about your chances of getting 21CN ?0 -

Like you, we're out of the plusnet area for the cheap offer. So, with Madasafish, offer them £7.00 per month for the 5Gb package by raising a ticket on the home page. That's what I did.
Within 5 hours got a counter offer for £7.50 per month for 12 months.0 -
If you are with the right exchange, plusnet do it for a cheaper £5.99 for 10gb. Maaf customers can switch over to plusnet and get this deal if they are prepared to enter a new 12 month contract.0

Quentin
How do you complete the switch?
Thanks.
