Good luck LW - that sounds worth a try at least :)

We have a very constipated baby at the moment. Seeing as the effect us both eating strawberries for 2 days running had, I've pureed some strawberries, and made up her breakfast cerial with that instead of water (well mostly - had to add a bit of water too, as I made it too thick!) She loved it :) I also got her to drink about 2/3 of a food pot of water (not sure how much that is - no label to say how big they are) which is about double what she would normally have.

Does anyone know how much water she should be having? We are on to 3 small meals a day, with a breast feed after every meal, plus extra booby milk mid morning and afternoon and once (hopefully!) in the night. I've been giving her a few sips of water after every couple of mouthfulls of food, but that has obviously not been enough!

AM - Why can't you have the implant? does it have to be put in at a certain point in ur cycle?

I'm now googling Bowen to find out what it is.
I may have to send OH for some at Fritha's recommendation as I'm not too far away :) his constant squirming and back cracking drives me nuts! (Though I'm sure if he just sat up straight for once in his life it wouldn't be as bad!)

hmm my sister was supposed to be coming round around 10am to see Christopher and so I can get a shower in peace, no sign yet. Looks like I'll be having my usual rushed shower then! She'll be complaining that she's not spent much time with him later when we go out and she's off home to Hull

Elijah's just coming up on 10 months - we've seen the paediatrician only once and this is indeed a 6 week followup. Before that we just used the GP several times.
He's really not too bad now, it's at the inconvenience level where before it was a real worry and no fun to see him so miserable.

i've heard so many stories of how good cranial osteopathy is for different things with babies, it really does seem to work for everyone. it would be good if it could be offered as a routine nhs thing i think. would save the nhs some cash on various medications and prevent us from having to stuff our tiny ones with chemicals at such an early age

Lu T I'll try to take a picture later of how it's fitted for you :) it's flush at the top of the blind and I think it's screwed into the frame (not the window itself, but the brick... I think... Will have a look :) )

I'm knackered! Roo was fidgeting most of the night again and my milk has come in and it not only makes it hard for her to get latched on but also very uncomfy to sleep! After she had a morning feed I expressed 150ml and there was more in there! I mean I know I'm not small chested but that does seem a lot to me! I feel like a dairy cow! :rotfl:
Right - ought to do a little tidying I guess - MW should be round at some point today - no idea when though. I hate when people don't tell you when they'll be round but just turn up. Means the rest of the day can't be planned at all as you don't know when they'll pop round grrrrr

Oh and my living room is starting to look like the local florist shop! Pretty - but not very practical! :)

On the up side Roo DID manage a feed from the left boob during the night - hooray! Only the one though - stubborn tadpole :rotfl:
And we have explosive poo lol great fun! :D

They still need 600ml milk in a day. I'm offering water in a cup few sips during meals and few sips between meals. In a day he probably gets 4oz water. Although I noticed he drank 7 oz on the hot day last weekend.

Oh yes, very annoying! The first morning back with DS2, the MW turned up before 9am - we were still in bed - well it was baby's first night at home! So there I was, chatting to her in my PJs, and then she says she needs to examine my tear  (I had a small one, no stitches) - I hadn't even had a shower!!! :o:eek: Honestly, how hard is it to phone people and say, "I'll be over in 15 mins", whatever!:mad:

Re: blackout blinds, I had an email just yesterday with this in it - don't know if it's any use to anyone?

And bunny/cow clock things - no personal experience but a friend with a very early riser said it didn't make the slightest bit of difference. :o:confused: However, this was a 18-month old, so maybe Imogen being a mature :D over 2-yr-old might be different?

We had constipation (I say 'we', I mean my babies! :rotfl:) at about the 6 month stage, when they were on 3 solid meals a day. I think it's quite common for BFed babies to get constipated at this point. Anyway, with DS1 it got really bad (we got to the suppositories stage to sort it out:eek::eek: - oh the fun!). Thankfully, with DS2 I knew to expect it so it wasn't quite as bad.

It sounds like you're doing exactly the right things - sips of water with food, and poo-inducing food like strawberries! I mashed up some prunes in their porridge too, and avoided banana for a few weeks as it's supposed to not help constipation. I also gave then the occasional sip of diluted apple juice, or just squeezed some juice from an orange for them - just occasionally, obviously not all the time.

I think it takes a few weeks for their little tums to adjust, but then something just clicks and they should start pooing away as usual! :rotfl:Good luck!
