it means the valve is stuck closed so a vacuum has occurred,
unscrew the bottle and give the valve a squeeze to open it and all should be fine
I did have one teat that constantly got stuck so ended up chucking that one out but 1 out of a total of about 30 teats we used from birth to now isn't to bad IMHO0 -
Well there is so many pages to catch up on I've only managed a few!!
Chocoholic - I live 10 mins from South Lakes Animal Park and me and OH get in free with our works discount card ( we give them waste produce at the end of each day) and I love it! glad you enjoyed your day!
Have been in hospital for a week with dd1 who suffered another seizure we are still not sure what has caused them but she is having tests for epilepsy, the awful thing is this one has left her without any feeling in her left leg so she is on crutches for the time being. I cant believe how brave she is about the whole thing - think its more upsetting for me than her. Sami thanks for the update on Elle - thoughts are with her and her family x19.6.10 Weight loss 6lb0 -

I used to get this with the size 1, (slowest teats) I changed pretty quickly to the vari-flow ones (with a little x instead of a single hole) I have never had any problems at all with these ones:)
I am taking Kai to get weighed tomorrow as he is not drinking his bottles at all...he takes 5/6oz on his first feed, then every feed after that, whether I leave it 3hrs or 5hrs, I struggle to get him to drink 3oz...it has been going on for nearly two weeks now and is starting to drive me mad!!! This means that some days he is only having 16/18oz in a whole day.

I'm at my wits end with reflux. Baby still sleeps in half hour bouts at night and having lots of pain from side effect of medication. I've been looking into alternative therapies (anything is worth a try). Cant cope with this lack of sleep. Has anyone had any experience of Bowen technique or cranial osteopathy? x
Hope everyone else is well.
Sami-have you heard more from Elle? x0 -
Evening ladies
I have been lurking for a day or two now and thought I should introduce myself, now that I feel I should move over from the pregnancy thread!
Im Nikki aka Sparkle I had my baby girl Lexi on 19-04-09 Im already mum to Joshua who is six so now have one of each
I have only just got chance to come over really as Lexi is so much more demanding than Joshua ever was, Lexi survives on less sleep than me and is very clingy! But also very beautiful and wouldnt change her for the world - Just means more cuddles for me.....and a very untidy house but hey ho!
Anyway thats enough rambling from me for now! Wow I have only been on maternity for seven weeks and already start babbling when theres a chance of adult company LoL

Pink Princess, sorry to hear about your DD. Hope the tests come back quickly and hugs to her for being so brave!

Welcome Nikki/Sparkle! Glad you're joining us.
PP - so sorry to hear about your DD. Hope you get some answers too. It's shocking how resilient they can be isn't it?
Lwcus - ((hugs)) I know someone whose LO had cranial osteopathy and recommends it. Think it was for reflux but can't be sure. Anything's worth a go. I have read somewhere (could be the NCT mag or this month's M&B) that you could get results from the first session. I know I'd be tempted.MSE Parent Club Member #1Yummy slummy mummy club member50% slummy, 50% mummy, 100% proudImogen born Boxing Day 2006Alex born 13 July 20090 -

Me again. Advice please.
Has anyone used a sleep clock for toddlers/older children to encourage them to stay in bed? I'm looking at this one http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Kidsleep-Alarm-Clock-COW-SLEEP-AID-NIGHT-LIGHT_W0QQitemZ250430729956QQcmdZViewItemQQptZUK_Clocks?hash=item3a4ed5aee4&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14&_trkparms=72%3A1686%7C66%3A2%7C65%3A12%7C39%3A1%7C240%3A1318%7C301%3A0%7C293%3A1%7C294%3A50 which seems v v v expensive, but if it keeps her in her room for longer then it will probably be worth it! I know there are cheaper 'bunny' ones but I just don't like them as much.
Also, has anyone bought a blackout blind from an online company which fits close up to the top of the window? Can you recommend anywhere that does them? We're had some fab blinds from a local company but the fittings mean there's at least an inch of window showing at the top, which means any blackout effect would be cancelled out. Imogen's waking more and more in the mornings and we're knackered! I'd like to get it sorted before new baby arrives so we at least only have one wakeful child to deal with.
All opinions/advice gratefully rec'd.
Chris has a blackout blind from Argos there is a gap about 1cm at the sides but non at the top/bottom and we have curtains over it but they aren't blackout so let some light through but I think it would be completely dark if we put blackout lining on the curtains0 -
Thanks Mrs T - how have you mounted the blind? We had one in her old room, but there's that gap at the top which will cause us probs as her curtains are on a pole which sits an inch or so away from the wall. I guess if I was less bothered about how it looked I'd put her curtains on a track, but they just look so yuk!MSE Parent Club Member #1Yummy slummy mummy club member50% slummy, 50% mummy, 100% proudImogen born Boxing Day 2006Alex born 13 July 20090
