Thanks Tine, I shall get onto it as soon as I can... Although hubby just informed me that they're covered in aphids! How do I get rid of those?!

You can try diluted washing up liquid sprayed on... or you could start a "catch ladybirds mission" to place on the strawberries as they eat aphids... or give up on good intentions and buy a chemical spray that is safe on vegetables and fruits...
Or you can just be very persistent and rub them off (I recommend rubber gloves as they are icky in my oppinion...) - and make sure they are not planted near things like roses or other plants that are natually prone to aphids :)

    Changing bag:

    4-8 nappies - I'm paranoid!
    normal size baby wipes pack
2-3 different outfits (short sleeve no legs, long sleeve no legs and long sleeve and legs)
    Infacol
    oral gel for thrush
small tub of cream from Bounty bag :)
    2-3 terry cloths
    1 hand towel
    gel hand sanitiser
    pack of nappy bags

    Think that's about it...

  • my nappy bag also normally has a nappy bag with a dirty nappy in it. I end up carrying them round with me, and discovering them while I'm looking for my wallet in the supermarket or something...

But you can probably leave that bit out of your packing list :)

Everything... I think I could acually run a small country for a fortnight just on the contents of my changing bag :D

I usually have several billion bags as I sometimes need one for pee soaked clothes, and it's always something I forget to replace!

I tend have a sun hat in the bag if she's wearing a wooly one or vice versa, stupid unpredictable weather!

I figure old receipts and bus tickets, empty teething powder packets and a rather elderly fuffly rice cake are optional! :o
That's my kinda change bag :D
    Mine right now has
    travel change mat,
    disposable change mat
    5 nappies
    mini talc
    mini sudacream
    cotton wool balls
    travel wipes
    1 vest and 1 sleepsuit
    handfull nappy sacks
    1 or 2 muslins
    hand gel
    breast pads
(would have a dummy too if I used one)

I also have some choc, my purse, phone, juice, snacks - raisins/rice cakes/cereal bar and nappies/pull ups for Chris but I don't think you'll need those :D

Ta, I'll send Aimee on a squishin mission I think, then try the washing up liquid, I'm not a chemical fan... Much to hubbys disgust, I make him dig the weeds out of the patio when he'd much rather spray them with something...

Krystal - you could try googling for plants that attract ladybirds too - why can't I remember the proper name for when you plant like that

We also keep some muslins, wipes, disposable nappies, dates and a change of clothing in the car so if we're just going to the supermarket we don't need to take the change bag.

    that's a really good idea! :)

Hi all.. Thanks for your suggestions. I've written my list:-

    Changing mat
    Nappies
Cotton Wool & Bowl - can't use wipes, in the hospital we have to have cotton wool and warm water (hence the bowl)
Gauze Pads & Sterile Water - for mouth care, plus the water can be used for changes if no tap nearby
    Sudocrem
Milk, ph strips and syringes - ah the joy of tube feeding!
Clothes - vests, sleepsuits, hat, cardi and scratch mitts
    Blanket
Muslins - extra one for drapping over the car seat to keep the sun out his eyes?

Hadn't thought of nappy sacks and hand gel - it's things like this I'm just taken for granted from the hospital which I needed reminding of, thankyou! :)

I assume the hospital take care of the drugs but will leave a space for them if they want it. Am leaving the changing bag with the nurse anyway - Rhys isn't allowed out of her sight!

Also, we have a mini steriliser pot (water and Milton) under his cot where his dummies are stored - has to have a dummy to practise his sucking and swallow reflexes. I'm thinking of taking a small lock&lock container for this instead.. Good idea? Also was thinking about my pump (Medela Swing) - how do I keep that sterile if I need to use it whilst I'm out?

Oh, I'm such an amateur :o These were the things I was supposed to Google between week 31 and 40! :(
