The first scan said I was 11+5, and they stuck with that the whole way through, despite various lengths/measurements. They always asked what my initial EDD was, but didn't change it when he was too long/too short etc.
It might have been right, just seems so many co-incidences!
I think other family memebers baby sizes are a myth tbh, a bit like the sex running in familys lol
In mine and OH's immediate familys there is a mixture of large small and 'normal' weights.:j Baby boy Number 2, arrived 12th April 2009!:j0 -
skinty i used the pampers care mat things and it was enough for me? i dont think you will move about as much as you expect you will esp when things get going! but shower curtain is a good idea:D
Scruffy no thanks 5 is more than enough for me:D
Feelie erin wont let me go to the toilet without her at the moment. she will go to people for a whole 5 mins then her bottom lip goes out and she screams until i take her back! glad the feeding is stll going well
meg and lewis just had their school reports they are brilliant!!! only downside is that they will be in the same class next year? am not sure this is a good idea? What's for you won't go past you0 -
Phew! Not sure what's going on but I'm burning up here. I've cleaned 1.5 bathrooms (shower in the main one doesn't get used and I'm banned from trying to clean the v deep bath), dusted our bedroom, tidied round a bit and am now trying to stop sweating like a weight-lifter. Eww!
Becles - gotta love your little girl, she's ace!
I had a dream this baby will be 9lb 1oz. Might not be a bad guess as Imogen was 8lb 10oz. No sign of anything else getting moving though. Might have to recruit DH again (hee hee!). It's a bit of a problem that the only time in about 2.5 years that I'm feeling "up for it" he isn't that keen. My libido went on an extended gap year after Imogen and has only come back since I've been pregnant (yes, I know I got pregnant, but sometimes you just do, don't you?!) I'm hoping the same thing won't happen again.
Feelie - they all get attached at some point. Hopefully it's just a phase.
AM - they do it on purpose, I just know they do. Being better for Daddy is genetically programmed inot them to add to our mummy guilt. i remeber what i was goign to ask! my sisters LO was on aptimal when born but he got very constipated, we put him on the easy digest but again lots of wind and screaming non stop. Eventually the HV has put him on a special LF milk but now he keeps being sick! it is just constant until his stomach is empty and then its feed time again. He isnt very happy and screams for hours on end sometimes. HV and doc are not interested but we are wondering if anyone has had anything like this and what do you suggest? What's for you won't go past you0 -

hes a lovely little boy but we are looking for ideas to help sort him out! he doesnt get laid flat and loves to be wrapped up tight?
erin is drooling at me eating a biscuit lol!!!!!!What's for you won't go past you0 -
I'd be minded to try to see a different doc as if he's throwing up every feed there certainly seems to be something wrong. My friend's LO was similar and he was finally diagnosed as intolerant to something in milk (but not lactose) and they prescribed different milk, but not before quite a few other options had been looked at. Don't be fobbed off I guess?

Did you make hubby take you to Maccie D's on the way home?
Your boys are both gorgeous BTWyes I got a maccy's  although I didn't enjoy it very much because I still had that lump in the throat thing from crying
Sami - Do you mean the pop-up one, with the frog, bee or ladybird on? I remember you saying you wanted, but didn't get, the bee one. I got the mag too and was going to send you the bee one if I got it, but I didn't, I got the frog
Right, I think that's all I had to say..have you tried it on the back window? I had to use ones that stick with static to the window because the pop up ones wouldn't work with the way the window is recessed on a micra.
I had a look and this month's practical parenting mag comes with a free kiddicare pop up window shade in case anyone wants one (also get a blow up beach ball and dvd with an episode of Timmy time and waybuloo on it)
Here is a similar static window thing http://www.toysrus.co.uk/Babies-R-Us/Travel-and-Pushchairs/Car-Seats-and-Boosters/Car-Seat-Accessories/Bruin-Stick-On-Sunshades-2-Pack(0069051)
in case link doesn't work search "stick on sunshades" on babies R usI've also got the bee one going spare! If anyone happened to pm me, i could describe it to you in more detail.skintchick wrote: »Hello mummies!
This is a request for advice from Sami, Weezl and any other home birthers.
I have no idea what waterproofing to get. I was thinking about getting those incontinence sheets but are they absorbent enough? I'm worried that tarp/shower curtains with sheets/towels over will be slippery as I move around.
What did you all use? I'm going to do it on the living room floor/sofa/hall so will need to cover quite a large area!
Thanks.
(You can reply in pregnancy thread if you prefer as I have asked on there as well.)
I bought 2 shower curtains from Asda (87p each) but didn't use them!
All I used was Boots maternity mats (Highly recomend those - even the MWs were impressed as they are larger than the pampers/incontinence pads)
It only got messy for me when my waters went and I was on the bed at that point, we had a cheap duvet from poundstretcher and an old already stained cover on it so weren't too concerned when it got covered in mec stained waters as we just chucked it afterwards, I also ended up getting mec waters and blood all over my lovely brand new white towels but they washed fine:D
oh also I had my nickers on for ages with a pad on so if my waters had gone while I was up and about it probably wouldn't have made much mess.0 -

HI caz, just popped over from the pregnancy thread. My DS settled once prescribed gaviscon powders that you put in the milk. But this was more for reflux. He would have his bottle, then throw it all back up again. But it did work a treat. Coleif drops were also recommended by the HV, but never bought them, as around £10 a bottle, if i remember correctly.0 -
Caz - one of my friends had a similar problem with her little girl. GP and HV weren't much help - she ended up taking her to the sick kids and they were great. They gave her meds of some kind and she's since grown out of it (she's about 5 months now and feeding fine). After the trip to sick kids the Drs took her much more seriously
Had a lovely fathers day - I think DH enjoyed his first father's day lots and lots
skintchick - I had boots maternity pads and a waterproof but cotton topped sheet from dunelm mill for the bed. Saying all that I just wanted to be in my own bed to labour! Didn't get to give birth at home in the end so not much mess to clear up! Good luck and my best advice is to be flexible (with the pan not necessarily physically!) :rotfl:xr.mac, you are so wise and wonderful, that post was lovely and so insightful!0
