Don't talk to me about hormones... I'm either raging or bursting into tears... Take this morning.. Hubby's Dad and StepMum are coming down this afternoon, the whole house is a state, but the kitchen in particular (I'm sure hubby cooking Sunday dinner has nothing to do with it ) So I started chucking things around, trying to tidy and make packed lunches... Then Hubby suggested I sweep the floor later... I went off on one about when he thought I was going to find the time to do everything else, and sweep the floor whilst holding the baby... He told me to calm down... Which sent me off into tears...

I don't even like myself at the moment, it must be much worse for him and Aimee... :o
A very proud Mummy to 3 beautiful girls... I do pity my husband though, he's the one to suffer the hormones...

becles charlotte is so funny :rotfl: I love the 'done a poo' quote...

Been busy acquiring baby bargains at car boot sale. Got a full sunshade the lenth of the back windscreen for 75p a full set of 5 antler suitcases for hols for £5, highchair for £2... So feeling like I'm being an mse parent.;)

Disappointingly though the cloth nappy usage has boosted my 'leccie usage far too much so for the last 3 days have been handwashing them all !!!! (well it's cheaper than a wii fit and my arms are in great shape!) :rotfl:Also been limiting myself to 1 hr per day on the pc. I used to leave it on for hours and keep popping back to get updates!

    Have a good day all,

    Love weezl xxx

We handwashed everything for a few weeks last year when our washing machine broke. Our electricity usage went down from 7.5 to 4.5 units per day. The actual washing wasn't too bad (I quite enjoyed doing it actually) but it was the wringing that was the hard bit - it killed our wrists.

Grandad didn't want to hold Rhys as he said he looks too little yet, but I think we made his (Fathers') day with a "To my Great-Grandad" card from Rhys and a framed picture of him.

:rotfl:Some men are just scared of babies. OH's brother, 22, is still scared of Violet and she's not even little any more! OH chased him around the house yesterday trying to get him to hold her - but he was too scared. :rotfl:

3 - I don't know what's considered a good weight, but Rhys was 3lb 6oz at 31wks which they said was a good weight particularly as he wasn't attached properly. I say yes to sending the card. We've got heaps, all different types, and I've not been offended or upset by any of them. I thought "Congratulations" might be a bit odd, but actually it's still nice to be congratulated on the birth of my son regardless of the circumstances and danger he was in. One thing I would said though is it might be a better idea to hold off on presents for a while until you know little one is going to be okay. We had a big basket of new baby things arrive from OH's colleagues and although it is lovely (and cost a fortune, I found out later - the MSE-wannabe in me cringed at the thought! :o) I remember thinking "what am I going to do with that if Rhys doesn't survive?".. The thought of potentially having to put it away and it not getting used by Rhys was heartbreaking - I couldn't bear to look at it; got my parents to take it home and out the flat asap :(

Thanks Elle . Thats exactly what we were thinking - we should congratulate them on becoming parents - but 'congratulations' seems inappropriate! We'll leave the presents until he comes home. Babys dad called this morning, Dr.s have said there will be moderate to severe disabilities. Hospital sound really carp with having Mum and Dad there together. It sounds like he can be there during the day, but is chucked out after evening visiting time. His parents have flown back from there hols so at least he's not on his own now.
I think i'm just really aware/afraid of saying/doing the wrong thing. Having our own disabled son, I know lots of people speak before thinking! Although DS was all ok at birth, we noticed the differences when he was 12-18 months when he wasn't doing as expected. Once he was diagnosed - we had some very strange comments! (My nan is one of the worst culprits - but she gets away with it because she's old!)

Sami - Do you mean the pop-up one, with the frog, bee or ladybird on? I remember you saying you wanted, but didn't get, the bee one. I got the mag too and was going to send you the bee one if I got it, but I didn't, I got the frog :)

Right, I think that's all I had to say.. :)

I've also got the bee one going spare! If anyone happened to pm me, i could describe it to you in more detail. :D

You handwashing ladies must be totally mad! Our washing machine is on usually twice a day. If I was handwashing all of that, i wouldn't have time to do anything else, like eat or sleep!!

Handwashing - we went almost 6 months without a washing machine. W made weekly trips to the laundrette. I'm so lazy with washing, I don't even have a washing line
Grandads - Mine wouldn't hold Toby, he was too little! My brother grabbed him off me the moment he was through the door.
Milk - we've gone a full week without bottles. Any idea how much is a good amount to have in the freezer? I'll only be giving the very occassional bottle. I've got 4000ml in the freezer and pump 50 to 100ml a day. Does that seem alright? I like to pump a little to ensure my supply stays up, and so I'm ahead of ds to make growth spurts easier. Does that sound alright or should I pump more?
