Caitlyn in her Blossom donut... (And that babygro is the most ridiculous thing... It poppers up the back and the sleeves are about 3 inches too long! Looks cute though...)

My two girls... I can't decide if Aimee looks big or Caitlyn looks small in this photo...
A very proud Mummy to 3 beautiful girls... I do pity my husband though, he's the one to suffer the hormones...
Krystal is so smart and funny and wonderful I am struck dumb in awe in her presence.

    Maz How were the tatties?

Elle I'm surprised you recognized your house when you got home, I bet it's looking really good now all that has been done. Well done Rhys on the BF

Lu They look fab, but we splashed out and bought the ones specific for our car as they are also in the back windows for when pooch is in the car, if we hadn't I would defo had them.

Honestly, you can help by just being there. I found myself so stressed I sometimes couldn't string a sentence together so got wound up when I was asked lots of questions, I preferred just to tell people what I wanted them to know in my own time. Just be patient and there and they'll ask for whatever help they need in their own time :)
    ;)

Thanks Elle - It doesn't help that we're down here, and they're up in Scotland. Friend called late Friday night, baby had been born at 4pm, they'd not got to see him til 9.30pm, and they'd kicked Dad out of hospital before midnight! So he was home on his own, parents and sister abroad on holiday - and us hundreds of miles away totally useless!
Forgot to say, he weighed 2lb 13oz, which I thinks sounds good for 28 weeks . He was having some tests (the first of many no doubt!) this morning.

This may seem a daft question, but as you've been through it recently you'll know the right answer! :D Do we send a card yet? I'm thinking if we don't, we're not acknowledging the fact that he's here, iykwim!

Sorry, another question.. Is there any difference in car blinds (the stick up ones to go on the rear passenger windows when little ones are in the car), or are they all "much of a muchness"?

We must be really posh - our car has build in roller/sun blinds in the back windows. :D
My two girls... I can't decide if Aimee looks big or Caitlyn looks small in this photo...

They're two beautiful girls Krystal! I thought Caitlyn looked big in the donut, then in the bath with Aimee she looks tiny!

Sorry long post but worth a read, I've seen it before but it's still funny second time round

    The 'Middle Wife' (by a
    2nd grade teacher)

I've been teaching 2nd grade now for about fifteen
years. I have two kids myself, but the best birth story I
know is the one I saw in my own second grade classroom a few
    years back.

    When I was a kid, I loved show-and-tell. So I always have a
few sessions with my students. It helps them get over
shyness and usually, show-and-tell is pretty tame. Kids
bring in pet turtles, model airplanes, pictures of fish they
catch, stuff like that. And I never, ever place any
boundaries or limitations on them. If they want to lug it in
to school and talk about it, they're welcome.

Well, one day this little girl, Erica, a very bright, very
outgoing kid, takes her turn and waddles up to the front of
the class with a pillow stuffed under her sweater.

She holds up a snapshot of an infant. 'This is Luke, my
baby brother, and I'm going to tell you about his
    birthday.'

'First, Mom and Dad made him as a symbol of their love,
and then Dad put a seed in my Mom's stomach, and Luke
grew in there. He ate for nine months through an umbrella
    cord.'

She's standing there with her hands on the pillow, and
I'm trying not to laugh and wishing I had my camcorder
with me. The kids are watching her in amazement.

'Then, about two Saturdays ago, my Mom starts saying
and going, 'Oh, Oh, Oh, Oh!' Erica puts a hand
behind her back and groans. 'She walked around the house
for, like an hour, 'Oh, oh, oh!' (Now this kid is
doing a hysterical duck walk and groaning.)

'My Dad called the middle wife. She delivers babies,
but she doesn't have a sign on the car like the
Domino's man. They got my Mom to lie down in bed like
this.' (Then Erica lies down with her back against the
    wall.)

'And then, pop! My Mom had this bag of water she kept
in there in case he got thirsty, and it just blew up and
spilled all over ! the bed, like psshhheew!' (This kid has her legs spread with
her little hands miming water flowing away. It was too much!)

'Then the middle wife starts saying 'push,
push,' and 'breathe, breathe. They started counting,
but never even got past ten. Then, all of a sudden, out
comes my brother. He was covered in yucky stuff that they
all said it was from Mom's play-center, (placenta) so
there must be a lot of toys inside there. When he got out,
the middle wife spanked him for crawling up in there.'

Then Erica stood up, took a big theatrical bow and returned
to her seat. I'm sure I applauded the loudest. Ever
since then, when it's show-and-tell day, I bring my
camcorder, just in case another 'Middle Wife' comes
    along.

Now you have two choices...laugh and close this page or
pass this along to someone else to spread the laughs. I know
    what I did!!!

Live every day as if it is your LAST chance to make someone
    happy!

3 that sounds awful and so traumatic to new parents, as if such a early labour isnt traumatic enough to start with, but he does sound a good weight! fingers crossed he is a proper little fighter.

Elle I have a wide selection of car blinds :p non of them actually cover the whole window which drives me mad
I got some free recently with a baby mag so maybe worth keeping your eye out for some freebies (If I come across a pair of my many spare ones I'll pop them in the parcel I'm not at all sending to you ;))

Check me for hormonal irrationalness... yesterday we went to MIL's for tea, I was really hungry and expecting "mexican" which I took to mean fajita's as that's the only mexican food I like (and AFAIK MIL knew this) so when MIL served up nachos and something that looked like lasagna but with tortillas not pasta my stomach dropped I sniffed it and knew straight away I wouldn't like it - has a wee taste and yep I thought it was yuk :( I then had to eat a measly bit of salad and spent the following 30 mins trying to not cry.
I had to tell OH we needed to go home and spent most of the car ride crying :p

Brace yourselves, another long post from me :o

We had another attempt at breastfeeding tonight and Rhys seemed to have a few good goes at it :D My grandparents came in tonight too and Grandma had a cuddle with Rhys. She's going into hospital soon for a heart op and wanted to hold him before then "just in case" something happened to her on the operating table.. Grandad didn't want to hold Rhys as he said he looks too little yet, but I think we made his (Fathers') day with a "To my Great-Grandad" card from Rhys and a framed picture of him.

Oh, in other good news, Rhys has gained weight - he's now 3lb 14oz which is very good as he's been hovering around 3lb 10oz for about the last two weeks :) I asked about the drugs and going home and the nurse said they would probably take him off most of the drugs first and any which he still needs they would give to us and teach us how to give to Rhys. Apparently all his drugs are up for review tomorrow so looks like we might get a plan for the countdown to going home soon :D

There was a receptionist still at the unit when we went in tonight so I asked about my appointment tomorrow - apparently it's just a poke at my scar and a few questions, no major discussion about what happened :)

Lu T - thank you for that link, will have to look for some of those for OH's car. Mine is only 3dr :)

scruffy - I'm going to put pics of the finished rooms on Facebook once they're totally done (and tidy for five minutes!). Totally un-pregnancy related but I've ranted about it enough on the Preg Thread I feel I need to show everyone so they know the wittering was worth it ;)

3 - I don't know what's considered a good weight, but Rhys was 3lb 6oz at 31wks which they said was a good weight particularly as he wasn't attached properly. I say yes to sending the card. We've got heaps, all different types, and I've not been offended or upset by any of them. I thought "Congratulations" might be a bit odd, but actually it's still nice to be congratulated on the birth of my son regardless of the circumstances and danger he was in. One thing I would said though is it might be a better idea to hold off on presents for a while until you know little one is going to be okay. We had a big basket of new baby things arrive from OH's colleagues and although it is lovely (and cost a fortune, I found out later - the MSE-wannabe in me cringed at the thought! :o) I remember thinking "what am I going to do with that if Rhys doesn't survive?".. The thought of potentially having to put it away and it not getting used by Rhys was heartbreaking - I couldn't bear to look at it; got my parents to take it home and out the flat asap :(

Sami - Do you mean the pop-up one, with the frog, bee or ladybird on? I remember you saying you wanted, but didn't get, the bee one. I got the mag too and was going to send you the bee one if I got it, but I didn't, I got the frog :)

Right, I think that's all I had to say.. :)
