Oh forgot to add - have the HV coming for the 'weaning' chat tomorrow morning. I'll duely report back.........

I have a little girl who has decided she doesn't need a late afternoon nap today :O Therefore I foresee an early bath and bed with a dream feed! or on the other hand just a long fight to get her to go to sleep :rotfl:

My Nan grows spuds in a bucket... I've been meaning to have a go for about 3 years now, just never got round to it...

Anyone know what I should do with the sprouty bits coming off my strawberry plants at the minute?

You can grow spuds in almost anything so long as it's black or doesn't let light in to the soil - if it does then the potatoes will turn green :(

Strawberries - if they have roots then snip them off and plant them seperately - they are called runners :) If they don't have roots yet then pin them into a pot but still attached to the parent plant and leave till they have rooted - then seperate and plant where you like - viola - new strawberry plants for next year!

    Hi Everyone,

I've finally worked out what is bringing DD out in red wheals - soy lecithin, it's in most/all chocolate . She has had it in other foods with the same result.

I made a chocolate sauce yesterday for pud at a BBQ and she has her biggest wheals yet!

It's odd though as they develop overnight, where as most of the websites I have looked at suggest that she should react within the hour, so a bit confuzzled, plus she only ever gets one or too, so I think it's a sensitivity at the moment rather than an allergy.

Fingers crossed she grows out of it.

I have no idea what waterproofing to get. I was thinking about getting those incontinence sheets but are they absorbent enough? I'm worried that tarp/shower curtains with sheets/towels over will be slippery as I move around.
My midwife recommended thick cardboard boxes opened up, for the reason you suggest, that anything waterproof might have been slippery. Can be covered with an old sheet for comfort.

meg and lewis just had their school reports they are brilliant!!! only downside is that they will be in the same class next year? am not sure this is a good idea?
If there's any other option, and you've got concerns, then express them now. My boys' secondary school had this theory that siblings should go into the same (vertical) tutor group, which I thought would NOT be appreciated, so I said so and DS1 and DS2 were put into different groups. Then DS3 went into the group which DS1 had left, even that I wasn't wild about. But then maybe I was just scarred by my little sister's arrival at boarding school with me. :rotfl:

caz that sounds exactly like my cousin when he was younger, and he was lactose intolerant! she could try some soy based formula and see if that helps after a couple of days? my cousin was a vile baby for 3 whole months until his mum tried soy formula, it took 2 days and then he was a different baby!

Hi all.. Apologies for barging in without catching up - dashing off to the hospital now but will read up when I get back later, promise :) Hope you're all well!

We are going to Nottingham hospital on Thursday - Rhys has an outpatients appointment with the kidney specialists there. OH and I will be following in OH's car and Rhys, a nurse, a driver and possibly a doctor (not cos he needs one, just so that a doctor treating Rhys can be there too to hear the verdict). Rhys will be travelling in his car seat but we also need to pack his changing bag..

Feel stupid asking, but what do I need in his changing bag?! I'd never thought about it properly and would really appreciate your help with a list of things I need to make sure I have :o

    Thanks heaps! :) xx

You're probably used to this, but the one thing I always forgot to put in either the nappy bag or my bag in the early days was clean sanitary towels for myself. :o
