    No not really!

Would probably just be more straight forward this way anyway;)

Also just remembered I have a repayment option plan on my credit card, so I can now freeze it until I go back to work....that will save me £100pm until October/November time:D:D wish I had remembered about this a few months back!!

Don't worry... I can't afford to be a stay at home mum either so I sympathise :( How long I can afford to stay at home will seriously depend on hubby's meeting next week with his bosses - he's the lowest paid of his grade but they are under a pay freeze at the moment. They're hoping to get round it with a promotion (kind of a sideways promotion) so that he's not getting a pay rise per say but a pay in line with his "new" job title... if he gets a decent increase I should be able to stay at home for the full maternity length :) just about... (crossing fingers)
Will have to start doing some work from home in a month or two though to supplement but it'll be selfemployed work so won't affect my maternity pay from work - might also see if there is any computer repair work going... friends and friends of friends kinda stuff - usually upgrades or re-installs of everything when they have ended up with viruses and what have you on their machines :) It pays to have worked in IT for goodness knows how many years :rotfl:
Mel what about ironing for other people or even cleaning? Round here both charge a small fortune...

3 - All I can think of is earplugs, you can get all different types from boots/chemists. Wax, foam, silicone.......But will he tolerate anything like that in his ears??
I've just remembered, for 3's benefit, that the proper name is ear defenders.

They go over rather than in the ears. If you google it there's a post on the asdfriendly forums about whether parents find they are good or not, and on the whole they do.

Weezl Thanks especially for the percentage I didn't know that. I suppose I'll find out if the time ever comes. I just hated going to the hospital 3-4 times a week to be monitored. I had a sleepy baby inside and I was always there for ages coz they needed to wait until they had seen baby VERY active!!!!

3 I worked with a boy that had hyper sensitive hearing due to autism and he took his own ear defenders in when he came to stay with us for respite. He also had them at school but was encouraged not to use them there. It doesn't fully stop the noise but it helps.

SB - Hello! I missed you :D the wii fit is fun but I can't say I've used it for any seriois exercise...in fact I haven't used it for much at all recently :o
The wii is lots of fun for other things though - highly recommended as a console, although not easy for small kids because you need a bit of accuracy when you point it. There used to be a thread in the arms for people who were using the wii fit to actually get fit/lose weight...but haven't ventured down to the arms for ages!!

Feelie - I try and let Benjamin rule his own day where possible (unless I need to do something). I am very much of the opinion that if baby is happy somewhere / doing something then they should be left there if possible. He will have years and years of being told what to do and when so I try and give him some freedom now. Plus it means that I can get some ironing / cleaning / surfing done :D

 Hello! Missed you too! :D

Thanks for the info. DH was chomping at the bit to go and buy asap but I've convinced him to let me research the best price first . I think it will be the kindest way to gently ease me into the dark side of exercise without leaving my lounge! :D (and I might even let DH have a go every so often if he's good!).

How are you and Benjamin? Hope all is well at Camp MFD.

we will have less money when i go back to work :( once childcare is paid for i basically have to work full time to get the same money as what i'm getting now, and i'm only getting MA, and i dont want to leave seth full time :(
we might be able to get housing benefit, but where both OH and my jobs are commission based i'm scared to apply in case we go over slightly IYSWIM

i'm really really annoyed with the unfairness of the system at the moment. last year a friend of mine moved to spain with her OH and promptly fell PG, so waited out there until 20 weeks and then came back purely to use the NHS cos they wouldnt have got free healthcare over there, and had every intention of moving back out there once the baby was born. however she's now getting tax credits and decided to stay a year cos despite her OH being on twice the wage of my OH, they didnt earn much in the UK last year so they get FOUR TIMES the amount of tax credits we do and had a massive back payout this week, which she proudly told me has paid for a rent deposit on a 3 bedroom house and the rest shes going to spend on shoes. i nearly cried when she told me. we live in a tiny one bedroom flat in a retirement block and the only way we can afford to move is if we move in with my nan for a month while we wait for our deposit on this place to come back to us!

Thanks Tine...I think I would rather just go back to my old job than clean or iron for other people though...I hate even cleaning my own house:o, and as for ironing...I only bought an ironing board a few months ago, and that was only because ds1 wears shirts to school and I thought it would reflect badly if he has a creased shirt on full display in the warm weather when he takes his jumper off:rotfl:

At least you have a skill in something that can earn you decent money...unfortunately my work experience has all been in retail!!!!!! Until I get my degree I am kinda stuffed. Although I am going to start looking around for something within schools:)

Emlou The unfairness of the benefits system drives me crazy. I'm sure they just please themselves with who gets what and they make it soooo difficult and complicated to fill in forms etc

Well i'm off 2 defuzz ready for my nite out tomorow

It is horrible isn't it em....when I had ds1 we had only just bought our house a few months before finding out I was pregnant. Just as I had him dh was made redundant so I had to go back full-time when he was 5wks old......now that broke my heart, I cried so much and still get a bit upset when I think about it now:( At least with renting there is housing benefit available:) As for your friend.....just ignore her, in my opinion she is not that great a friend if she is bragging to you about it all, when she must surely know the situation you are in:mad:

Best go exercise before I change my mind hehe...

    Oooh, I love Trumpettes!! :D

Poppy had lots of boxes of Mary Janes -CLICK- (I even found a few unused pairs recently and sold them for a good sum on eBay!). She received compliments everytime she wore them.

Jamie also has lots of the Johnny style which are so cute -CLICK-

But I'm going to check out the cheaper alternatives too as they were gifts! :D
