I remember seeing something on an antenatal visit at our local hospital about being able to meet someone to discuss your birth and answer any unsolved questions.

I have thought about it a couple of times about Tom's birth - long story but the gist of it is after coming home from hospital where I was being monitored for pre-eclampsia, I went for a routine monitoring the next day, midwife phoned far an ambulance, rushed to another hospital with blue lights flashing, I was given a general anaesthetic and Tom was born by emergency c-section within 30 mins of reaching the hospital, needed resucitation and spent his first hour sort of on his own - OH hadn't reached the hospital and I was still unconscious. Afterwards a midwife came and told us an anaethetist had put a complaint in about her for leaving Tom alone in a room after birth so she could go and get him some clothing (I didn't have anything with me!) but we never heard any more on that. A couple of days later when I was wanting to go home I was rushed back into an isolation ward with round the clock one-on -one care as I had HELLP syndrome but no-one ever really told us WHY all of this stuff happened, or what HELLP syndrome is, or what caused Tom's distress and low birth weight or the infected placenta.

I have thought about seeing if I could discuss it all but feel a little bit silly asking!

SB - gorgeous photos! Edgar looks really big!

:( At least with renting there is housing benefit available:)
We get income support and get part of our mortgage paid so that might be worth others looking into if your a SAHM and have a mortgage. It's not only if you rent that you can get help.

Wow Sami what a head of hair the wee fella has, they are both lovely.

There has been a full investigation into it because there has to be one, but we've just put it down to one of those things and we're glad he had the medication anyway :)
same here when the doc overdosed El as long she was ok I didn't want any further action to be taken. The doc in question came and told me himself and I just said as long as she was in no danger i was happy and I thanked him for his honesty they could have tried to hide it from me but they didn't.

I would agree with that. The midwife who said she'd had the complint made against her by the anaethetist was really worried but we said we were quite happy with her decision.

I hate all that "where there's a blame" business and I can't stand those adverts with the bloke who used to be on The Bill.

I hate the blame thing too! I drove into the back of someone at traffic lights - whoops! The whole time she was swapping details she was rubbing her neck, when I asked if she was ok she said "I thinks so but we'll have to see how my neck is in the morning" she was in a complete shed of a car and there was no damage to her car but she still put a claim in for about £500 and whiplash
Claiming, especially against the NHS when it's a genuine accident really annoys me.

on a completely unrelated note, does anyone use breast shells to collect milk? are they all the same or are some better than others?
Also when storing EBM could I add to some in the fridge throughout the day and then once I have say 3oz freeze it or do you need to freeze it as soon as you've expressed it?

I might be wrong (once again krystal might/will correct me) I don't think your meant to mixed EBM from different times it's not so much that it needs to be frozen staright away I just don't think your meant to mix it, not sure why. But if I'm wrong I'll stand corrected :rotfl:
