I asked for a MAC last Wednesday and they said 3 days by email.
Needless to say, it's still not come yet.

A good ISP will issue a MAC immediately, there is no valid reason for a delay.

I got the letter today and just couldn't believe it? Why are they doing this, I don't understand it. Back in March I had negotiated a really good deal for this year - six months free and then six months at £12.99 per month, which averaged out very nicely.

Does anyone know if this is a general thing with all internet providers or are Orange just sick of having any customers?

Like many others my gut reaction is to tell them where to stick it, but I just don't know how easy it would be to change. I had a look on that Samknows site and the only one that had a tick was Talk Talk and I don't know anything about them at all.

All I want is a basic broadband package, not the telephone etc.

    Any recommendations?

    Many thanks.

P.S. Have just been checking again and Plusnet come up as quite reasonable and say they cover my area - are they any good?
Stopped smoking 27/12/2007, but could start again at any time

Cheers late9, the code is there as you said.
Shame the girl I spoke to on the phone couldn't have told me about that.
Never mind, bye bye Orange !!
I'm moving to O2. Their availability checker states I should get 3meg on their LLU compared to the 2meg I've had until now plus unlimited usage for £8 a month less than the new deal Orange have forced on me.

I am with IDNet, 30 day contract, excellent service, UK based help line, they really are helpful, honest and fair.

I left Plusnet about 3 years ago when their service started getting slower and slower, since then they have been bought out by BT...nuff said.

Anyone gone with Post Office Broadband from Orange??. I ordered last Sunday and due to go live next Monday but have received nothing.
I ordered PO package 7th July through Topcashback, got confirmation by email 8th July, further confirmation 9th to say I will be going live on 22nd. I was away last week, the router was here on my return Sunday. Just hoping all is as straightforward when I try to set it up tomorrow 22nd. Haven't received a 'welcome pack' - whatever that is, anyone? If you haven't received your router yet you need to contact them, because they will probably be charging you from your official start date. Fingers crossed for an easy transition. I hate all this faff!!!

It's on the page that headed "Your Account" which lets you change your package and view your statements etc and should be the last option.
