Just rang them up to chase and i was told that they have had a new cashback system fitted in and they are currently experiencing a 10 day delay. I made sure i wrote down time and date of my call and the person i spoke to was Gemma on x119.
Just thought i'd share there excuses with you all so you are aware.

Hi,
Correct me if I'm being a bit thick, but I thought that your 28 days was already up...are they not simply using stalling tactics here by restarting your 28 day clock from 09 September?
Why not respond to them saying that you have already waited the necessary 28 days and that your chequeback should be made a priority, not just placed at the back of the queue again. Remind them that you have alreay given them 14 days to comply and that you intend to stick with this timescale. Don't let them set the timescale anymore or you will be forever waiting.
Just my two penn'orth.
Reestit MuttonFor anyone wishing to contact me privately to ask me a question, can I ask that you email me directly as my PM box is often full.0 -
I was the original poster on this subject and it is really interesting how opinions have changed - from yes brilliant to stay well away.
As after 3 months I have not recieved my first or second cash back I contacted Consumerdirect.co.uk who told me that themobs.com were being investigated by trading standards in Leeds. The guy on the phone was great and I had the feeling he had heard the same thing many many times before!
The only option we have is trying to persue a country court judgement against them. I am not sure about throwing even more money at this company.
Does anyone know if it is worth a number of us joining forces on this?
I am happy to co-ordinate but I have no legal knowldege so would appreciate two things -
1. is is worth trying something in a joint effort? - I have been on another site where there are loads of people in the same situation.
2. If there is something we can do are you interested?

Hello Sam, yes and yes.
I've still had no joy from my April claim - sent County Court request last week. My final claim is now due - got to send papers to them by mid Oct.
Anything to get these guys to pay up - I bet loads of other people have just given up.
My TS wouldnt tell me if there was any outstanding problems with TheMobs in West Yorks (data protection) and at one stage she siad the name of the compnay didnt come up as being in logged for bad customer service or claims outstanding.
Have u got the web site of the place where other people are facing the same problems.

Update number ??
Reading the recent posts think I was right in not going with the cash back deal
3's debt collector seems to have stopped their letters/phone calls after I told them that 3 had told me I don't owe them anything. Gave them a ref number from a very nice lady in 3's call centre and have not heard anymore - for once I like Indian call centres! Also told someone from their debt collecting agent about mse site but she knew about it - not heard from them since! Ah, the power of mse!
But Themobs (etc.) have set on a debt collector whose letter claimed I owed them £258. Just out of interest I called the debt collector (and added the cost of the call to my claim agains them!) and told them that I had never had an invoice from the mobs....Ok we'll get one sent to you.
Weeks later get a letter from debt collector ... thank you for your letter blah, blah.. please call us.
So I do and they say that themobs have told them to collect a debt I supposedly owe to 3.
? How can themobs persuse a debt for another company? !!!!!
After explaining the position to the lady at the other end she agreed to pass this matter (themobs) to her managers!
........................................................
So anyone reading this thread for the first time.
Do not buy a phone from themobs and check who sent you that email advert they could be themobs.
PS. Anyone want a new and unused 3g phone? 'Cause 3 & themobs don't seem to want it -:)0 -
Hi Guys,
Just to keep you all updated i have sent my final demand letter as i was advised my CAB before they would take any action and i gave them 10 more days before i take legal action.....10 days expire on 10th Oct 2006....WATCH THIS SPACE!!!!!!!0 -
Mistri wrote:Very interesting - I am having the same problems - my 6 month payment was due by end of May 2006 (£155) – several phone calls and still no joy – contacted TS who suggested a registered letter – which hasn’t worked – sent another registered letter today – we will see and TS recommend a further letter before preceding with Small Claims.
These guys really take the P**s in my last call to them I told them at the end that I was recording the call – which they didn’t like – I am just hoping this doesn’t hinder my claim against them.
What do you think – write another letter – or make a claim now with https://www.moneyclaim.gov.uk/ Or have I blown it? Any advice would be great.

Take out the online claim asap. These companies are toying around to not up paid and hope that you will give up. Claim for postage and phone calls expenses as well. If you dont know how to do the online claim then post here, someone will be able to help you.
I had cashbacks with cpw/osps in the last few years and only had one hiccup, got my money after a while. I take no prisoners and will take them to court if they mess around. Always send in special delivery, better still with consquential (sp) loss. Hope you guys get better news shortly.0 -
Hi
The only way I got my cashback after months of chasing, letters to the Directors etc, was involving my local trading standards who were excellent, keeping me updated with phone calls and letters. They paid up within 2-3 weeks.
Good luck
