  • I took out 2 contracts with the mobs.com last November 2005. Sent all the necessary paperwork back via recorded delivery and quickly realised that their business model was to delay payment for as long as possible.

I didn't bother with phone calls to them or contacting TS or regulators. Simply faxed them a letter politely requesting payment. When that failed to yield a response I told them that I would give them a further 14 days to pay or I would issue county court proceedings.

As expected they failed to respond. Issued the proceeding online- cost £30.00 on the Sunday hey presto cheque received the following Friday!

Visit https://www.moneyclaim.gov.uk. Very straightforward, very effective.

Don't let bum companies treat you with contempt - fight back! Wait for TS to help you - I'm sorry but you'll wait forever!

    Hi corkie1965,

Can you claim the £30 back off them after or do you just loose that?

£30.00 is added to the debt. In my particular case themobs have not paid the £30.00. They have filed a defence stating that it was paid before the proceedings were issued. Unfortunately for them it was received after issuing and therefore it is payable. I'm waiting for a court date from my local county court to obtain judgement for this amount. Quite looking forward to asking for a bailiff to visit to collect the outstanding amount ! This company knows all the tricks in the book. They back dated the cheque - obvious because it took a week to arrive despite being posted 1st class, their covering letter was undated and finally (m'lud!! in my humble submission!!) why didn't themobs pay the amount directly to the details recorded on their precious voucher that they are so keen to ensure is sent back with every other bit of useless paper. They certainly do live up to their name!
  • Very interesting - I am having the same problems - my 6 month payment was due by end of May 2006 (£155) – several phone calls and still no joy – contacted TS who suggested a registered letter – which hasn’t worked – sent another registered letter today – we will see and TS recommend a further letter before preceding with Small Claims.

These guys really take the P**s in my last call to them I told them at the end that I was recording the call – which they didn’t like – I am just hoping this doesn’t hinder my claim against them.

What do you think – write another letter – or make a claim now with https://www.moneyclaim.gov.uk/ Or have I blown it? Any advice would be great.

  • Am having major problems with themobs.com have been months trying to get monies owed out of them and am getting nowhere fast. Each time I call I'm told it will be done next Friday. The phrase 'Tomorrow Never Comes' springs to mind. Can anyone advise how I go about a claim through the courts or debt collectors? Or does anyone have any contact names as trying to speak to a Manager is impossible

    Thanks

Just wondering whether anyone else has had any problems with themobs.com? They offer mobile phones with free line rental - only problem is you have to claim it back.

Unfortunately they have 'lost' my claim form and now it is too late for me to claim back my money - £150. I have emailed them three times and not had a sinlgle response. Now after waiting 15 mionutes on hold I have been told it is tough, too late - I should have sent it special delivery then they would have processed it!

I am furious and feel cheated. Has anyone else had a problem or could it be that I'm a one off?

Suprise Suprise...can you guess what? my credit has not hit my account yet. Just rang them up to chase and i was told that they have had a new cashback system fitted in and they are currently experiencing a 10 day delay. I made sure i wrote down time and date of my call and the person i spoke to was Gemma on x119.

Just thought i'd share there excuses with you all so you are aware.

    Cheers, D
  • Surprised you got anywhere with Gemma, cos when I spoke to her she was the rudest person on the planet and as for a 10 day delay, I should have had my money by 23rd Jun and we are middle Sep now, so good luck with that.

AVOID THE MOBS.COM LIKE THE PLAGUE:eek:

  • Is there an alternative website with more tips on how to deal with this lot, as the bravehost site doesn't appear to be operational any longer. Ta.
  • I sent my final demand letter today - and faxed it - I think Corkie's got the best way to deal with these people. Don’t bother with phone calls, put everything down in writing and start asking for your money (by letter - recorded delivery) as soon as its due. My final payment is due in November and I will write to them as soon as the 28 days are up. Best
