    Hi

There is another thread about themobs.co entitled "themobs .com-too good to be true?, which I have posted my bad experience with this company. I involved trading standards in the end to get my redemption.

This company was featured on our local radio consumer prog today.

A lady was concerned about her son taking out a contract & feeling he had been misled.

Might be worth a call to them. On the air weekdays 10am-1pm Stephen Rhodes consumer prog. http://www.bbc.co.uk/threecounties.

Itwon't matter if you're out of the area, 'cos they'll still try & sort it for you.

    Hi

PLEASE TAKE THIS AS A WARNING!!

I took out a contract with themobs.com in Dec 04 to Dec 05 with 3 redemption cheques due months 6,9 and 12. I hate to think how much I have spent on calling their 0870 number to chase redemptions, recorded delivery letters to the Director and finally only two days ago have I received my redemption money for Dec 05 AFTER Birmingham Trading Standards getting involved on my behalf.

So if I were you I would avoid this outfit like the plague!!

By the way, I am not the only person who has had this experience with this company, there are review sites that tell of similar stories and of those who never got their money back.

They phoned me (themobs.com) today to ask why I had not finished ordering the phone and assured me they were bona-fide, I am expecting another call, after the warnings here..if anything sounds too good to be true..it probably is not true!

    Hi Lelly,

If you want a no hassle mobile contract avoid themobs.com like a plague!!!
  • Hi,

Sadly I was also caught by the themobs.com with this offer. I was really annoyed because from the email they sent me I really believed that I was purchasing this phone from 3 themselves. However when the telephone arrived I called themobs.com and told them I didn't want it as it as I was not keen on the offer. I was informed by the lady on the phone to email them this and they would reply to me with the returns number. I did so, 3 times in fact, nothing! I then called them again only to be faced with the worst man in the world, the conversation went like this:

I would like to return my phone to you
    - Why?
I don't have to tell you why, I am within my 14 days
    - Madam I said why
    I don't want it
    - I suggest you keep it and I'll send you a hands free kit
no thank you I want to return it
    - Why, you wont get a better offer
    I don't want it
    - Why?
I have read terrible things about you and I just don't want it
    - Thats rubbish you haven't read them correctly. We are a good company.
I don't want the phone pls take it back
    - I have no record of an email so i can't help - goodbye

So I claimed war on them. I don't know if this will help anyone but here goes

I telephoned 3 and informed them of what happened - they told me to return to the dealer. I refused and then told them I would take things further as the themobs.com are representing 3 by selling their products. They then informed me that they would end the contract and collect the phone. This is some points that I raised with them which helped me. I hope they can help you to.

1 - there was no signed contract, therefore it would not stand up in the eyes of the law
2 - With the amount of fraud going on at the moment, I am supprised that 3 would allow contracts to be set up like this.
3 - No matter where the phone came from they are the network, they should cancell it.

I also cancelled my direct debit and my credit card.

This is a very nasty company and should not be trading. Help put a stop to these rip off type companies.

    Good luck everyone x

    Hi all,

I sent my cashback form off on Thursday last week and i rang them today and they confirmed that they have received the paper work and that they will process it in the next 28 WORKING days....i was like huh? where does it say that on the terms and conditions the guy on the fone sound like a completed BLEEP and the worlds most unhelpful person. He said that they that it will take 28 working days and i will have my cashback in Sept 2006 i was like ok......What should i do now? is fone confirmation enough? i did send the cashback recorded delivery so should i just wait and see or should and get other confirmation off them to say they have received everthing?

Please HELP!!!! i cant wait for this to be finally over and then i'll say good riddance to bad trash and never even look at cashbock offer again!!!!

    Cheers Dipak

They told me 28 WORKING days as well, just one of the very many excuses I heard over 12 months.

In the end the only thing that got results was trading standards.

  • Hello all,

Sorry I've not posted an update for ages - no excuse I'm just a man!

Lots of interesting posts especially Honey.

My TS contact has advised me to contact OFCOM (or whatever they are called today!) but haven't had the time - will do....promise!

Had debt collectors letter from Co. acting for The Mobs and 3.

Co. acting for 3 insist I am at fault but still won't go to court (which is what I want) they just keep sending threatening letters.

Co. acting for The Mobs (or Direct Fone Ware House etc. etc. ) are nearly as bad as The Mobs. They don't understand at all. I have never received a invoice from The Mobs so how can they 'chase' one?

I am starting to view this all as fun. I will go to court and counter claim all my expenses. Done a lot of research and am 99% sure I will win, but please keep your fingers crossed for me!

    Kind regards to all,

    Steve
