Just discovered this forum after 6 months of giving themobs.com the benefit of the doubt and falling for their patter! I am fuming:mad: . And I just read on another forum that the network - 3 - dont give a hoot and are insisting the contracts are honoured. Has anyone found a succesful route to get their cash OR alternatively get out of their contract??
For what its worth I had a similar cashback package with dialaphone last year and they paid out exactly as they said they would no problems at all.0 -

To defend 3, why shouldn't they insist you honour your contract?
They're not the ones offering cashback, they get their line rental from you whether you're a normal customer, one who gets a free PSP or cashback.
They'll have paid commission to themobs too.Toyota - 'Always a better way', avoid buying Toyota.0 -
Ok. I concede its not 3's fault. And since I posted I have discovered they have ditched themobs and another 72 resellers for breaches in the terms of their agreement and "failure to pay cashback" complaints.
Doesn't help all those of us that are now out of pocket but I guess thats life.
Back to dialaphone it is0 -
I paid the £39.00 to take the mobs to the small claim court on the 21/11/06, and received a letter today from bwc business solutions, so I feel even more stupid.ah well no fool like an old fool! Had a look on the internet and they are still trading and offering deals.0

Something strange is going on here!
Their website was 'down' last night at which point I was fearing the worst. However, today it is up and running offering the same deals as it was before.
It can not be correct that a company applying for liquidation to carry on plying for trade in the knowledge that customers and suppliers will be or should I say could be defrauded.
Letters received stating that they are APPLYING are not the same as GONE into administration. I accept the signs don't look good but there must be some hope that the company can honour its committments. If not it should cease trading immediately.
I got half of the cash back owed by going to the County Court. Seemingly I can kiss the other half good bye!
Previous commentators have publicised the names of the directors. I wonder how long it will take for them to set up another company in which to carry out disreputable trading practices.

Update (long overdue!) on my situation.
3 sent a £0 invoice - in doing so I am assuming that they have acknowledged that I don't owe them any money.
I have not heard from the debt collector acting for The Mobs since emailing them asking how The Mobs can instruct them to collect a debt on behalf of 3. I also told them about this thread and suggested they Google for more bad news about the client - The Mobs/Mobile Solution/etc.etc.
So, fingers crossed, it looks like all I have lost is the £3 admin charge - but I do have a LG phone, think I might put it on Ebay and give the proceeds to charity! Or should I send The Mobs a bill for storage? !
Couple of points on recent posts:
The Mobs or Mobile Solutions Online are still showing as a trading company tonight on Companies House web site.
Google The Mobs and top link, paid for advert takes you to this page:
http://scripts.affiliatefuture.com/suspendedMerchant.aspx?programmeID=1504&merchantID=419&affiliateID=
I think the clue is in the /suspended/ part of that web address.
But The Mobs website is still working.
Personally I think 3 should have acted more responsibly and ditched The Mobs a lot sooner. Or do 3 have a stake in The Mobs?
As I kept myself subscribed to The Mobs email list so I have a record of all the name they are using, most are obvious but two new ones came in the other day https://www.ownaphone.co.uk & https://www.mobiletariffs.co.uk.
I do hope all you that are due cashback get something.
Just thinking sideways - the cashbacks are/must be effectively paid for by the airtime provider ie 3 - so is it not possible to chase them? Question for the legal people I think.0 -
How come The Mobs.com are recommended in this weekend's Sunday Times Money Section!!? Any ideas how to get in touch wht Sunday Times to let them know how bad The Mobs are in giving cash-back, if at all. They are offering a free Ipod instead of cash!!
