That's called paid journalism or "PR"
Try to stick to the CPW sister companies.0 -
I too have been ripped off by themobs.com
Have seen that there is a group getting together to sort them out but they need INFOMATION. LOTS OF IT. they are working hard to get the owners of the mobs to pay up or face court action/jail . not just the small clames court rubbish that we have all tried.
There is a phone number that has been set up but i can't find it.
but there are two emails thet you should write to.
one is themobs_is_a_sacm@postmaster.co.uk and the other is the Company that is taking them through the voluntary liguidation bwc@bwc-solutions.com
What i want to know is what did they do with all our money??????0 -
I have had a mobile with the mobs since March.... due cash back in August which obviously I never received.... they kept saying it would be in within 14 days. Before this however I had also got a phone for my mum and aunt. All the contracts were on a £35 a month but discounted to £4.99 for 12 months. My Aunts 6 months is due next month and my mums in 2 months. Neither can aford the £35 a month a were really banking on the cask back. All the phones are in my name. Can anyone give me any advice. Can I cancel my contact early with 3? Please help.....0

Just been on Watchdog & i fear the worst , the same day my trading standards said they would go after them on my behalf.
Looks like some spotty little 22 year old !!!! has dupped us all , let's hope he gets what he deserves & not start another company as seems to be the British thing.0 -
Yes I saw that too.
He has started liquidation of the company.
The presenter said that it was unlikely that any money would be paid back now.de do-do-do, de dar-dar-dar0 -
Well i for one will be calling 3 & see what they say & i'm sure if everyone said that they wanted to cancel they might do something about it.
I know that you 3 will say nothing to do with them as it was supplier who promised cashback etc but surely 3 should have done something about themobs long ago as they were well aware of them & if anything else it will !!!! them off with everyone calling complaining that they still allowed these cowboys to sell their phones even when they knew about them causing cashback problems ages ago.0 -
I've been shafted by them too. I only took out the deal in October so have paid 2 months. I called 3 tonight and said I couldn't afford £35 per month as I was expecting to pay £1.99 a month through the mobs. They basically said it was tough luck and if I wanted to cancel I will have to pay £330 cancellation charge. So I have cancelled my direct debit to them and will no longer use the phone and will write to them to tell them what has happend, I'm sure they won't listen so I will just have to wait for the debt collection letters!0

Dam (or words to that effect!) I missed Watchdog. Would have been 'very' interested to see the spotty...err... person.
Totally agree with 3 having to take a portion of the blame.
Years ago I was in the mobile phone industry and the way it worked was:
Sign someone up ie register a new number and the network (in those's day just Voda and Cellnet) gave the retailer got a kick back. From my, admittedly, poor memory it got up just over £1k per number.
I very much doubt that the situation has changed much.
So work it out - who is actually paying for the 'cashback' deals. Yes the airtime people not the retailer.
So 3 must have some responsibility - even if it only to cancel contracts without penalty.
Hopefully someone with a more legal mind will come along and give advice.0 -

Unfortunately any incentives like Cash Back,Free I Pods etc etc promotions, offered by mobile phone dealers at the time you buy , are a contract agreement between you and the dealer.
They have nowt to do with the mobile network, your calls etc are going to be carried on.
Your find the contract you enter into with the mobile network is for the provision of network services only. The only time the network would be liable is if was their own promotion that you were not getting.Eg. 10% off line rental, double minutes, etc etc0
