    Cheers for that.
Probably won't get me anywhere but it costs nothing to send a copy of letter by email. The recorded delivery letter cost £1 though. Grrrr
Cheeky sods sent an email ( wouldn't have received the letter yet) confirming that they had looked into the matter:
as I was no longer a TT user, I wouldn't be able to access on line billing. They confirmed that I owed £6.89 and they would pass on to debt agency if not paid. No hint of an apology.
I sent a curt response that I wasn't prepared to pay it on somebody's say so, still required proof and if the matter wasn't resolved to a satisfactory conclusion within 5 working days, I was referring the matter to Ofcom.
Now MSEers, they have blatently admitted in that email that I wouldn't be able to access my bills so aren't they breaking T&C by not sending a bill with dates and just demanding money? Please advise. I really want to go for jugular here.

hi I am still waiting to leave talktalk ,I am now 2 days over the 30 days notice and still connected to their broadband service, have told them I am not paying a penny more as I have kept to their t+c and tonight was put on a run around with about 4 difference people trying to get me disconnected ,told will get mac code tomorrow but not holding out much hope, as this company will tell you anything ,so all you out there signing up to their service please read these posts and dont let people say we told you so.I will be going to my bank now to make sure they cant take any more D.Ds and I also have taken a note of the dates ,times and names I have been on to them,if I dont get disconnected tomorrow then I will phone again, and again ,and again and also send a recorded letter to their head office with all these details and will be going to my C.A.B branch to see what else I can do

    Dan2002,
I really don't recommend phoning. Apart from costing you, I am not sure it will get you anywhere and it is difficult to trace. They say they record phone calls but can we believe anything TT say?
I did get a response from C Dunstone's email address ( I wonder if it was really him? I'm quite cynical) apologising and saying the matter was being looked into.
I got a phone call on Saturday from someone from TT. She was very apologetic about all the issues I raised. She was clearing the amount I owed and emailing credit agency.
I requested that she put all that she said in writing. As this stage, coursesy calls are irrelevant. I need records. I have been promised things before ( copies of bills) so will wait and see what happens.
Good luck Dan2002. I wonder how Cheghead has got on?

Phoned them far a mac code last night and was told i would received an email within 14 days, received the disconnection email to fill in today. Only problem is i m going on hols middle of next month so if they send a mac code immediately (am i being optimistic - i hear you all laughing) then im not going to have enough time to use the mac code and set up new broadband connection before i go and the 30 days you have to use it will have expired by the time i come back so i'll have to wait until next week to fill it in.
Anybody tell me long they waited for a mac code or r u all still waiting. Also can anyone confirm what the disconnection fee is i have a 12 month contract and on the leaflet i received in the welcome pack it stated £E45 but now they are saying it costs £70. Not that im really bothered as i'll pay anything to get out of it.

hi dont think you will ever get your mac code I didnt,I just moved to ntl ,they will just keep telling you, they will phone with mac code ,they must get a bonus to tell that many lies as you never get call backs ,as for disconnected fees I can tell you that I am not paying them anything as I kept to the 12 months contract and that is all I signed up to, I no longer need their !!!! service so they can keep it

I'm sorry Ms-Money-Penny but you are probably not going to have an easy time of it. Let's assume TT do the procedure correctly!!!!
It's a bit hazy for me now but I think the form requires a date. If you fill in the form today and put say today's date on there, the mac code should be given to you in 14 days (from the date you enter) time allowing you enough time to give the code to new ISP before you go on your hollybobs. I think you'll need a holiday after that. You could call tomorrow and see if the email is showing on their system. If they say no, get them to send you another form, fill it in while you are on the phone to them and get them to complete an escalation form and also send you a test mail as proof of your conversation. Best of luck!
PS are you within your 12 month contract? If not you shouldn't have to pay a DF.
