It's not worth much but I would suggest you get each person you speak to to send you an email while you are talking to them with a brief summary of what they have said to you. Don't hang up until that email has got to you.I didn't go down the route of recorded delivery letters but that is another option. You probably won't have a response but at least if it comes to it, you'll have proof of your wish to leave and giving 30 days notice.0

After 11 months of fun (NOT!), i ring up and give Talktalk one month's notice of disconnection. on the form i tick the box requesting my MAC and wait anxiously for 14 days.
Nothing.
I ring up and CS monkey says to give it another 48 hours.
Nothing.
So i ring up again and ask to speak to a manager. "sorry there is no one available".
i reply "you are breaching your own t's and c's", at this point she pauses as this is probably not written down in her script of lies, poos herself and fetches a manager.
This manager tells asks me what disconnection date i put down on my form. I say it was the 7th May, the official end date of my contract. he tells me i'll actually have to wait 14 days AFTER this date to receive my MAC. ask him why he just cant generate one now he says i'll have to fill in the form again blah blah blah excuse excuse. i ask him where this is in the t's and c's and he goes quiet. At this point I lose my rag and tell him TT is being slated in just about every ADSL forum there is, and why his CS staff are telling customers different information.....he stays quiet.
Knowing i'll get more helpful advice from a brick wall i get fed up and tell him fine i'll wait for it.
This morning (27/4) i check my email and WOW I GOT MY MAC CODE!!!!!! I'M SO HAPPY!!! I'M GOING TO THE PUB TO CELEBRATE!!!
P.S.Oh and don't worry everybody i'll cancel my DD, i've paid until the 22nd May anyway.0 -
Hold on you paint a really depressing picture of TT. Why do you want out? Why are you going one way when all the world and his wife are going towards them?0

And I had loads of bother getting a MAC code when I left Virgin (no contract but still took about 50 days to leave!!!) to join TT. Mum is now doing the same but doesn't look like she will fare any better.
All much of a muchness if you ask me.The best things in life are NOT free - but they sure are cheaper with MSE!:j0 -
Just a wee note to say TT do not block p2p or limewire or anything. I've been using them for 2 years no probs whatsoever.0

dont know were you are but from Christmas I have got very little p2p downloads with talktalk,I have gave my 30 days notice to Quit and waiting for mac code but dont need it I have moved already to Ntl and have seen a BIG Differance with my downloads ,using the same speed talktalk sat at 0kbs to 50kbs max now with nlt speed sitting at anything from 10kbs to 250kbs and in 3 days I have downloaded move files than I did in 3 months from talktalk so anyone out there think twice before joining talktalk0
