sloughflint wrote:Well, I may be counting my chickens too soon, but I owe TT money ( not a lot on the great scheme of things, under a tenner) after cancelling my DD. Not a dickie bird from TT. I had paperless billing and when I look at the online-billing part, the account has been deregistered. I can't even see the final bill.
Is this really the end of my tale of woe and have I had the last laugh?
I have just received an email to say my latest broadband bill has arrived and yet when I log on it says the account has been deregistered.
Any advice on what I should do? Shall I just let them do their thing.
I have an acknowlegement email from someone confirming that BB was no longer active on migration day. Shall I just let them continue to bill me ( bills that I will never be able to see if account has been deregistered).
I don't see why I should call them on their 0870 number or go into a shop to sort their own mess out.
A little part of me feels guilty because I know that I owe them a few days worth (20) from one bill to migration day. But then they haven't given me any opportunity to pay if I can't see the bill. What do people think? Or are you all fed up with this saga by now?0 -
Please please please don't be duped into TT, CPW offer just because they are apparently offering attractive deals.
You will be falling into their trap and excellent marketing ploy.
Anyone who's read my other thread will know how bitter I feel towards TT. On the other side of the coin, I want to sing the praises of MAAF:
I PMed at the request of the rep on this board about the problems I was experiencing.
Within the hour, she had replied to me from home on a bank holiday Monday and had organised for the matter to be looked into.
I've just received a phone call from technical support who have talked me through possible settings problems.
NOW THAT'S WHAT I CALL SERVICE!0 -
Many thanks!
Cheap deal but the arrogant  way they treat you when you are locked into a 12 month contract.
i am waiting for my contract to end0 -
i'm trying to get my MAC code off of these swindlers at the moment too. i told them i wanted to cancel on 27th march, and was sent the cancellation form immediately by email. filled it in and returned it within 5 minutes. nothing for ages. called up about a week later and was told i'd definitely get the code 10-15 days before my contract end date of 25th april. waited until 17th april and still nothing. phoned the girl who told me i needed to speak to the opal portal team, but they weren't working on the bank holiday. they'd definitely contact me tomorrow. surprise surprise, nothing from them the following day. just called again now to speak to a manager, but you can't speak to a manager. they will call me back later today apparently. like hell. said i wanted to complain about the service. was told i could do that when the manager called. i explained that i'd already been waiting for a call from them, which hadn't materialised. was told to write to them. explained i had already emailed 4 times, with no response. she tells me there's nothing more they can do. god knows how i'm gonna get this MAC code. the point of this, one of many, talk talk stories, is to say to any and everyone
"STAY AWAY FROM TALK TALK. FORGET MONEY SAVING FOR ONCE. YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR AND THESE CLOWNS DON'T EVEN DESERVE THAT."
this is quite aside from the port throttling, p2p restricting and high cost helplines, but that's another, equally awful, story. btw, you can get through to customer services on 0800 0855900. cannot state strongly enough that these guys are sharks. forget about their new deal or you'll regret it. i guarantee now that there will be endless horror storries similar to these, when everyone tries to leave tt this time next year.
i am so mad.0 -
I am completely gobsmacked by how inept TalkTalk appear to be. I was one of the first adopters of their call package, and their broadband package, and their line renatl package, and so I am what you would call a loyal and trusting customer. Up until this weekend I have been really pleased with them, but since Friday I have not been able to connect. It is almost as if my account has disappeared. Trying to get through to their help lines, or any real person is virtually impossible, and when you do they just do not understand, and cannot help.
I am at my wits end and have no broadband, and am still paying for it!
Has anyone any advice on what to do? Should I cancel my direct debit?0 -
hi all I to have asked for mac code last thursday and gave a cancellation date for the 13 may ,sent the email they sent me to cancell and asked for mac code but if I move to ntl I dont think I need it, only thing is I'm tied to them for my phone calls for another 6 six months ,a long story as usual talktalk **** up again but as I will still be with their phone calls will be calling them free and will cancel the DD for the broadband ,as I have always had 2 separate DDs so it should be easy to tell my bank which one has to stop ,has anyone else been here0

hi all, 3 weeks until I leave these people (hopefully) I did give them 30 days notice and did ask for mac code but I dont need mac code as I'm going back to NTL, its being connected on tuesday and before anyone asks yes it looks this I will have 2 broadband providers for at least 2 weeks ,but Ntl owe me money from a year ago and have said they will take this of my first bill ,but I need to know, do you think talktalk will disconnect me on the date I asked for and I did send the disconnect email or will I have to phone and phone and phone them ,anyone been here before if so can you tell me how it ended0

Yay! Just got my MAC number out of these scammers.
You have to be persistant - I rang every day for the last five after giving them the 2 weeks that they said it would take originally. Just signed up to Be Broadband so hopefully I won't have to wait for my 24MBit connection, it can't be any slower than TalkTalk's crippled 1MBit...!
Now I just have to watch out for them continuing the direct debit...0 -

after 45 days and lots of phone calls to (dare i say it?) TT, with being told different stories every time im on the phone to them they have the cheeck to say that they cant generate a MAC code because they have to get it off BT first! I rang BT and the woman i spoke to thought i was joking, but after telling her everything thats gone on and threatening TT with legal action im nowhere nearer to leaving them then i was 45 days ago!.........if anyone's got the secret as how to get away from TT then please please tell me as my head is starting to hurt after butting the wall so many times! ive cancelled my DD's to TT and told them so but their answer is that they'll hand me over to a debt recovery team!.......i just want to get away from the biggest bunch of cowboys ive ever spoken to at TT!0
