I'd give my left nut to ditch 3 as the coverage is appalling but have 10 months or so to go, have never used this service (doesnt mean I wouldnt have in future though so still to my detriment maybe?)
I got a text this morning much along same lines as one posted, however the URL (mobile6.three.co.uk/sdf/3lhnon) doesnt mention anything about cancelling early, I assume there has been seperate SMS's sent to those who actively used the service and those that didnt0 -
It would seem 3 are deciding who has and hasn't used the service enough to warrant cancellation. Are you sure your link doesn't have a note right at the bottom about cancelling? The guy told me that some people who have used the service are getting the message, but those that (they think) can't cancel won't get anything at all.
I received the text this morning but no note on the bottom about cancelling. I have used the service once but that was over a year ago, and my contract is up in August, so guess I don't qualify!Northernlights0 -

I haven't received a text message but I have also used the service (a lot but over a year ago). My contract also ends in August. I did call and they said I'd have to pay an early termination fee. To be honest I just wanted the £20 as I don't want to cancel, but they didn't even offer that. Maybe I'll try again if I receive a message.0 -
Interesting re the text.
I never got it and I use 3 like home ALL the time (i.e. 99.5% of the time).
Have not got round to calling three, but will do soon."An eye for an eye leaves the whole world blind" - Mahatma Gandhi0 -

After being firm with them, I was offered cancellation. But they also put a £15 a month reduction for life on the table - took that instead. It's now cheaper than an equivalent SIM only deal from someone else, and a saving of around £90 over the rest of my minimum commitment.0

Has anyone managed to cancel yet, who hasn't received the text explicitly saying they CAN cancel?0

I called up yesterday and kicked up a bit of a fuss.
Agreed to a compromise. They would reduce my tariff to £5 a month until the end of my contract term (in December). If I had pushed for contract cancellation I think I might have got it, but the £5 deal actually works out better for me."An eye for an eye leaves the whole world blind" - Mahatma Gandhi0 -
After reading the responses on here over 3 like home, disappointed over a billing issue which was their error sometime ago but with 14months still remaining, i felt i was up for a challenge and decided to give them a call - and got a PAC code.... finally after 1hr 15mins and 32secs.
The first thing i was offered was a £20 credit to my account which i declined and then offered a reduction from £20 per month to £15 per month, after declining this, my history of making calls abroad was checked and i made a couple on the 3 network in Italy in October 2008 and he tried to say that my cancellation wasn’t warranted, once i said that it was irrelevant whether i used it at all as i may in the future i was transferred to the 'customer options' team.
Again offered the above and declined stating that my terms of agreement have changed and I was entitled to cancel. The advisor then tried to persuade me to call back the end of June as i would be able to take advantage of their service till then and just replied with a simple 'No Thanks'
Just thought I'd list the tactics used if anyone else has any problems but my advice would be to be firm and persistent and make sure your battery is fully charged! I’m going to look at the army website now to see if they are recruiting for a hostage negotiator for the pirates in Somalia and give them three as a reference :rotfl:
I mentioned to them that i had recieved a message (which i hadnt) and this wasnt disputed.
Good luck and maybe we should arrange a mass leaving party - my place isnt big enough though.
