Heh. You know I meant give people the correct reason if 3 are in the right, rather than just make one up.

I just got a PAC code for my other contract. She offered me 500 minutes and an e71 for £17.61 a month or 500 minutes, an LG viewty, my choice of free gift (wii, xbox, LCD tv) for the same price, both over 18 months. Took about 10 minutes before she gave up and issued the PAC code.
You got a PAC at TWO IN THE MORNING???!!!

Well no, I got it when I called them at around 9pm. Maybe I should have waited until 2, I expect the hold time is shorter then :).
  • Just found this thread. I'm on Three as I live in Northern Ireland and am often in the South of Ireland or in border areas where the signal switches over to Three Ireland. Before I bought the phone I did a LOT of research as the roaming situation here can make life expensive. I was constantly told by the sales people in the shops and on the phone that roaming would be free for me. It was therefore a major part my buying decision. At no time did anyone say anything about the possibility of the service ending. Maybe someone with more knowledge can advise me but I think that this service therefore IS part of my contract and cannot be removed. What do you think?

If Three go ahead with this change, they will lose loads of phone and mobile broadband customers on the island of Ireland. Incidently beyond a general "we reserve the right to add or remove..." Three Ireland are not advising their customers of this change yet!

I think you should read the thread. It is NOT part of your contract and never has been, and it CAN be withdrawn at any time. It is not their fault you based your decision to take out the contract on it.

It's a bit late tonight for me to check but doesn't the Sale of Goods Act apply? I was sure I had read that if someone buys something as a result of something the salesperson had said the product had/could do & it turned out that this was false, then the buyer could apply the Sale of Goods Act? Maybe it's different for a service contract?

By that token, did the sales person state that 3 at home would definetly not be withdrawn during your minimum contract period, and if so, how will you prove it?

    hello people

its been a while since posting on MSE.

seems this change of three like home is going to affect me quite a bit!!! the only reason I got three was because of the like home service. i'm in a country where it works, so it has been great for calling back to the uk and for people to call me without being hit with high roaming charges. but alas, the offer is now no longer.

i'll call three and see if i can get out of my contract, but from what i have read here, it seems unlikely.

my contract ends at the end of the year, no doubt i will be cancelling then. luckily i'm only paying £10 a month and i think i can give the remainder of my contract to someone in my family who are in the uk.

oh well, at least there is rebtel....

  • Did anyone else get the message from three - It opens a link ( which I appear not allowed to post!)with a page about this
    at the end it states
"finally because of the 3 Like home change, it's only fair that we point out your right to end your contract with us, without paying an early cancellationfee. However we are very much hope it won't come to that ...."

I tried to telephone 3 but no shift apart from ofer to credit £20 to my account. Does anyone think this would change things??

Just found the link on another forum, by googling the phrase you quoted:
    http://mobile6.three.co.uk/sdf/3lhactive1

Note its a mobile site so it'll only work if you view it from your 3 phone.
Looks like there may be light at the end of the tunnel after all!
Stephen, I'd suggest you go straight to the exec office, but prepare to be treated like a criminal.

Oh, and no I didn't get it either, but I've a feeling I opted out of such things a while back. Hmmm.
