    Recorded call

customers prior to 9/4 ( change of 3LH service to
" promotion " ) CAN leave penalty free as 3 have communicated to US customers via text & * removed* link to new T&C - regardless if 3LH has been used or not - CUSTOMER OPTIONS have to have consent on a/c from " another department " who will say you have not used SERVICE so cannot leave PENALTY FREE, thats rubbish

you need to be customer prior to 9 April - thats legality of it
SO... now England its the Scots turn to say dont leave the UK, stay in Europe with us in the UK, dont let the tories fool you like they did us with empty lies... You will be leaving the UK aswell as Europe ;)

hi all quick question, im going to use that policy change to cancel mine but my phone is currently booked into for a repair will this stop/disallow for me for cancelling or will they be able to charge me more to restore the phone?
  • Can you cancel if you havent used the service in the last 12 months ?

I am in Sweden on wednesday and will make a few calls

Will this allow me to cancel my contract early ?

Cancelled mine today, being cut off on the 17th of June.

Never received a message or any notification of this change, just read it on another forum. Didn't really put up much of a fight when I read their terms that I could cancel out to them.

Think it helped that i've been to Stockholm, Pisa and Dublin since I first joined in June 06, but after getting an N95 8GB as an upgrade in late December, i've been given it to keep for free after just 7 months. Brilliant!

They did ask if i'd received a letter but I just ignored it and said I have a communication from them with that paragraph in. Told them I was going to Australia in July (told them the specific dates too) which may have helped, but dare say having been abroad to 3 of the 7 '3 like home' countries was the deciding factor.

    US the customer lol

3 in a recorded call told me that the changes took place 9/4 and new/upgrade customers after then cannot contest "promotion"

3 are letting customers who have used 3LH prior to 9/4 cancel IF you used 3LH in last 12 months, or do so by 30 June

but legally 9/4 or around thus we should have been informed within 30 days the 3LH service was becoming a "promotion" and you had the right to cancel as a pre 9/4 customer and allowed ourselves 30 days notice from reciept of that communication the right to cancel, it is neither here nor there if you have used the service, you may have intended to as 3LH was a service included within priceplans, on 9/4 that service became "promotion"

on the first - within 30 days of 9/4, 3 should have informed ALL customers with 3 prior to the 9/4 the detrimental change of T&C part of your contract of service (3LH) becoming "promotion" = BREACH

from my recorded call yes as its before 30th June, the change is detrimental anyhow & ALL customers prior to 9/4 have the legal right to leave 3

    Diamonds, thanks for the clarification.

I have sent them a message and follow up email saying that I want to cancel without penalty. My accounts were opened last August and september (2 Phones and 1 Wireless Broiadband). At this point I have just asked to cancel one of the phones.
