  • is it still possible to do this?? has the 30 days (when they supposidly informed everyone) already expired?
I think i had the text, but get so much rubbish on my phone i just disregarded it and deleted it! :wall::doh:

I have just prepared a letter to send to them (because strangely I am fairly pleased with the tariff im on), as I dont really want to spend hours on the phone!!!

Is it worth cancelling, then taking out a new (slightly cheaper contract with 3) or is this even possible?????

    Thanks, Ben
  • sent a recorded letter to the head office address, requesting 30 days notice plus PAC, received last tuesday and they have just refused to give PAC over phone.

calling back, but has anyone any other suggestions?

It's been more than 30 days since they announced the change on the website, but 3 seem to be treating it as 30 days from when they sent the text message telling you about the change.

You could cancel and sign up with them again, but you would need to use your PAC code to move away from 3 first (e.g onto O2 PAYG) otherwise your contract with 3 would not be terminated. Keep in mind that unless you move to a SIM only deal you'll be locked in with them for another 18 months.

Yep it is now over 30 days since they announced the change, and now you have accepted it as part of the T&C's. So no more PAC'S..

just on the phone to them right now, 29 minutes and counting, i'm on Mix & Match 500, I've used Like Home services sporadically over the last 2 years as i work in Ireland from time to time... and have been offered the £5 discount for life of the contract but turned it down, I'm prepared to take the risk of hoping someone from retentions calls me later and offers a 'special deal' ;) as I'm sure they can do better than a fiver discount for a loyal customer of three years

    NB.
I received the text from 3 on 20th may so my 30 days were nearly up, so i guess they are going on the date the text was sent ie. t & c's state

    d. Within one month of a detrimental variation to your agreement. You can end the agreement within one month of us telling you about a variation to your agreement (which includes your Price Plan) which is likely to be of detriment to you. You must give written notice to 3 Customer Services within that month and your agreement will finish at the end of that month once we receive your notice. (A Cancellation Fee will not be charged.)

    EDIT:
ok, all done and PAC just received, the big countdown now begins to see if they make a better discounted offer or Vodafone (Sim only package) here I come

I suppose what you could do is ring back in a couple of weeks and explain that your circumstances have changed, so you're wondering if there's a deal on the table for you to resume your contract.

tell them you're willing to take the vodafone deal unless they can convince you otherwise - worth a punt I reckon.

My contract finished on the 14.

Changed over to PAYG , just rang up for my PAC code. And got the hard sell again.

Tried to off me a sammy Tocco Ultra Edition for £30 a month.

Told them where to stick it. And then she tried to tell what a bad phone the iPhone is.

Got my PAC via text 5 mins later
