OK I have been on the phone for just over one hour and I have managed to get my main phone contract cancelled.
Now hanging on trying to get my Mobile Broadband contract cancelled.
I was given about 25 minutes of very hard sell trying to convince me that £20 compensation was sufficient. I repeadedly and politely declined this option.
PAC code was issued.
Mobile BB are currently telling that they don't think I can cancel.0 -
Very efficiently handled by UK based person polite and apologetic. I think they know that there are a few people for who this change is very detrimental and they are not going to fight them too much.0

So I have a Three mobile contract, ring up and get a NON-UK based call centre, go through the whole 10.1 subsection d bit, about detrimental change etc.
They eventually agree that I can cancel, but need to put it in writing, then put me on Hold, come back and say actually no you can't cancel without paying a fee - because that clause is within one month of taking out your agreement.
I guess I can call again and hopefully get a more receptive CS rep.0 -

And that clause is within 1 month of them letting you know about the said detrimental change, not the original contract agreement. Seems a very bizarre thing for them to say really, doesn't make any sense; how would you know at time of sign up about a detrimental change they were going to make in the future?!
Good luck next time. I'd just try again straight away tbh.0 -
I'm still confused as to whether I have to send my phone back or not.
Who owns the handset?
They have said if I don't send my phone back, they will send me a bill for £400.
Is this another fib on 3s part or do they still own the handset. All I can find in the Terms and Conditions is that they own the SIM.
Any help would be appreciated.0 -
I have just managed to cancel 6 months into an 18 month contract and they didn't mention sending the phone back.
I was on the phone for nearly an hour as they kept trying to fob me off but I finally wore them down and I gave my 30 days notice from today:j
Ps, I have never used the at home service but said that I was going to ireland in july and as such this change would cost me moneyMoney saving newbie but learning fast:D0 -
Im quite sure that the phone is a gift when taking out the contract and you own it at the end? Maybe someone could correct me but last time I cancelled with the seconds to minutes change they never asked for my phone back.
I tried cancelling three times over this after being on hold for ages. I received a text but it didn't state that I could cancel. I have used 3LH on other contracts but not this one as of yet (only had it since December 2008). I tried using the 10.1d clause and they only offered to downgrade my price plan. Sent a letter the other day to but not had a reply as of yet. Any ideas anyone?

i got the text message on saturday but because three infuriate me with there arogance and service - i just deleted it!!! Ive been with them for 4 years and was (reasonably) happy with the service until my last upgrade when they took me from a 12 month contract to an 18 month one, and told me i HAD to take it...I have had contact with them when they decided to charge for itemised billing and txts would be a minute off my voice plan, but they have always bullied me down by saying i would have to pay for the end of the contract if i left early...Im wishing Id kept the text message and have tried via the sony ericsson pc suite to try and see if it is retrievable but im hopeless with that side of things lol...so im wondering if anyone has a copy of the text that was sent as im going to try and be brave and ring them again with this...thank you in advance'Normal' is a dryer setting.0
