Nelski - you rascal
Me - chatter - I tell you, it's all your fault. Ok - she's not here - let's blame Racy.....
Anyway - my post is still MIA (I posted on Martin's caption competition and mine is the only one that's been deleted - and it was one of the ones Martin liked, so haven't a clue what's going on) No - it wasn't rude either....
I am taking a breather from sorting out DS1's room. DS2 is now the owner of some 'new' clothes and I've found where all DS1's vests had gone to (and some new school socks I'd forgotten about)
It's still just about snowing here but quite blustery so we have very little on the roofs but some quite big drifts in places. I'm sure the mouselings will be out making a snowman after they have had their lunch. Talking of which - I think I hear the kettle calling......0 -

Ahhh bless ya Sue - if you have read my post today and in the past you should know by now that having something useful to add is definetly not essential!!
Squeaky always calls this thread the chat over the fence and i think that really sums it up.
OSers really are a lovely bunch honest (blimey they tolerate Racy and I!);)
Ticklemouse - good plan - i blame racy even if she is here!
Well i did get dressed finally to go asda - i decided warrington was just not ready for my pjs and dressing gown yet! So I slid into the carpark - they obvioiulsy decided not to clear the snow to help customers today:mad: and then spent £22.85 when i had gone for a paper:rolleyes: Did buy a lovely organic chicken and a load of veg though so i will be cooking at some point...............but not today:D
Pub plan has now changed instead its round to my lovely neighbours who when i was clearing the snow off my car to slide to asda invited me for lunch:j Homemade veg soup and a roast and ill provide the wine (bargain!!)
Ok off to laze the day away now.
Lots of love

 Hello all
Its a sunny Sunday here in Medway, albeit frippin' cold! We had a slow start to the day as its DH's 40th birthday on Tuesday and as we can't do a birthday breakfast on a school day, we started off today with a lie in until 8.30am (which is a major lie in for me, as I'm up at 5.30/6am ordinarily). We breakfasted on home bake Croissants from the local farm shop. I bought them for Christmas, but we were too stuffed to have them then! They are the ones where you get them out of the freezer the night before and leave them to prove overnight. We had them with h/m lemon curd and they were divine.
Since then, DH got a rush of blood to the head and decided to swap all the t.v.'s/dvd players/games consoles around so that everything could all be used all at once (I can't imagine in what circumstances we'd ever want to - but hey, it kept him busy for a couple of hours!).
I've managed to tick a few things off my mobile memory list and now the boys (DH and DS) have gone to Tesco for bread and milk, so I've got a quiet five minutes or so. Not much OS gone on today, but its been interesting to notice things like how much longer it is taking for rooms to get noticeably dusty now that I'm sticking to my vacuuming plan and dusting with the microfibres; how much cleaner the kitchen floor stays if I keep a damp mop by the dog door, ready for action against paw prints; how less guilty I feel about my responsibility towards the upkeep of the home, etc etc. Its proving to be most illuminating - its just a shame I didn't catch on to this earlier.Better late than never, hey?
Lots of love and hugs to all. :happylove Hope you're having a super Sunday.
B : Croissants, h/m lemon curd, filter coffee. (Aaah, the bliss!).
L : Salmon sandwiches (using up the tin of salmon that's been lurking for months)
D : Toad in the hole, potato wedges & veg.:hello: I'm very well, considering the state I'm in. :hello:Weight loss since 2 March 10 : 13lbs0 -

Sue
SueRob! I'd say you were in my house except I'm not in Berkshire. My OH comes out with a stream of language I didn't know he knew when the GP is on. Hmmm, I think he may have learnt it from me
Ticklemouse! whose idea was it to have a virtual sherry then? Hmmm? And Nelski "gobby mare extraordinaire" can talk the hind legs of a donkey on a bad day(hope your neighbours know what they are in for
). TM, it beats me where your comp entry has gone!
This thread is just like chatting over the garden fence, but warmer thank goodness. That reminds me, Ages ago I was messing about and set up sort of chat thingy where you can use instant messaging, voice chat or webcam chat, you choose yourself. It also has different "rooms" so if peeps wanting to talk about different subjects can without talking over each other. If anyone wants the addy PM me. I have no idea how good or otherwise it is and it isn't in any way, shape or form "run" by anyone, I just happened to be the bod who pressed the buttons to see if it worked. If anyone wants it they are welcome to it.
PP so glad to see you back and I hope all goes well at the hospital tomorrow.
Well, I'm sat here sneezing my head off and have decided I must have a cold. (It can't be dust, I dusted once already this year).
Off to make spag bol and use my nice new whizzer to make apple puree to make muffins.
BTW Tesco have 50 sheets of 6" x 4" glossy inket paper for £3.92, I'm going to try to print some of my favorite recipes on it to send to Nelski so she can vary her meal planners<runs>
Love to all xxxMy first reply was witty and intellectual but I lost it so you got this one instead

Snowing here and really glad that I did a big shop yesterday - especially the huge sacks of potatoes, onions and carrots. DH nearly had fit at the bill but it will last for ages!!
Made large apple flan this morning for dessert later.
Made bacon eggs and baked beans with toast as a late breakfast for us all.
About to put lemon and garlic chicken and roast potatoes and parsnips in oven and gave carrots, cabbage, sprouts and leeks with home made huge yorkie to go with it.
Will make more pea and ham soup in slow cooker overnight.
DD (12) now has more of an appetite and is recovering well - it is great to see her eating again!
Big hug to PP and anyone feeling under the weather."This site is addictive!"
Wooligan 2 squares for smoky - 3 squares for HTA

(I rarely eat out at the same place in the same week:D )0 -
OOH, it's freezing here
I've just run down to my neighbours house to pick up some wood she promised me after taking her old fence apart. She's still holding 2 big bundles for me and shoving the rest on freecycle. I should have enough to build my chicken house soon
I've shoved another load of washing on (bedding this time), pulled one load out of the dryer and sorted and folded it and put some the wet stuff in the dryer and on the airer to dry. Also turned the new mattress, not an easy job when you are doing it by yourself. DH is apparently staying after rehearsal for a buffet so it's just me and DD for tea and she wants chicken.
And I've just applied for an Egg card for DH as his 0% is due to finish on his Halifax card soon and it was acceptedSo as soon as it comes through I can BT his Halifax and the spree he went on when he got his new Marbles card. That was only supposed to be so he could get rid of his attrocious Citicard but he stuck the new computer on it too
(He did also stick my sewing machine on it but that's an investment
)

Hi everyone! haven't posted for a few days - had a horrible virus but feel much better today, and have been reading the Daily thread every day except one.
P-P It's nice to see you back - the thread isn't the same without you! Everyone missed you. Sorry you are feeling so rough, and I hope all goes well at the hosp tomorrow.
Moggins I was so sorry to hear about your DS - hope he is okay now. Glad the police are looking into it - I suppose they've got used to people deciding it's not worth pursuing as long as they can get the insurance money, but it's time these little so-and-sos realised that it's not okay to just take stuff from someone else when they feel like it!
Elona Glad to hear your DD is on the mend!
My MIL is in hospital atm - they eventually decided she had a urinary infection, but she's been having trouble with words so they weren't sure whether it was because she was dehydrated or if she had had a mild stroke as well. She improved rapidly, and DH's Stepfather and brother arrived at the hosp yesterday thinking they'd be taking her home. A doctor came ahd asked her loads of questions and she seemed fine, so he said she could go home. Then she looked out of the window and said "Oh look, there's a kangaroo out there. Or is it a wallaby?" (This is in Kent, not Derbyshire, so no wallabies around!) In the end the doc decided she was hallucinating and upped her dosage of antibiotics, so she'll be in there for a little while yet.
ATB to you all
