Canny_mal wrote:Where did you read about the £5 monthly discount for paying be direct debit Gingefam??
It's in the terms and conditions
"3.2 The Customer shall be invoiced monthly by Primus Planet Talk for all charges under this Agreement incurred in the preceding month unless Primus Planet Talk, at its discretion, chooses to invoice the Customer quarterly. Post -Paid calls are charged per second. Payment is due within 14 days of the date of the invoice. If the Customer has previously made late payment of invoices Primus Planet Talk may require payment to be made in advance without any applicable discounts. Customers must pay by direct debit from their bank.or automatic payment from their credit card on the last day of each month If the Customer seeks to pay by any method other than direct debit or automatic payment from their credit card acceptance is at the absolute discretion of Primus Planet Talk who may charge an additional administrative fee of £5 or such other amount as may be notified in respect of each such payment made which is not by direct debit or automatic payment from their credit card. Customers who pay by direct debit shall save £5 off their monthly bill. The time of payment for all sums due to Primus Planet Talk under this Agreement shall be of the essence of the Agreement. The Customer is liable for all charges arising out of the use of the Services whether such use is authorised by the Customer or not."
However, I think it is open to interpretation and should be read in context with the preceeding wording.0 -
So the way I read it, you will get charged £5 EXTRA per month by way of an administration fee if you don't pay by direct debit rather than having £5 deducted from your bill if you do pay by DD.
Would you agree?0 -
It was included in the T&Cs in the booklet sent to me when I joined up.
It is also used to be stated in the online T&Cs but have just checked back to insert the link - and it appears to have gone. But it is definitely in the written version.
Please can anybody give me any adivce about the bit about claiming back the cost of unconnected calls. Are calls therefore billable before pick-up ?
It does say that you can reclaim the costs of any calls under 60 secs within 30 days of bill receipt. Is this common ?0 -
Found it in the paper conditions.
Section 3.2
ie "Customers who pay by Direct Debit will save £5 off thier monthly bill".0 -
Quidco pay £8 for home telephone via Uswitch. Same £5 discount applies - hadn't realised that:).0

Just read this on thePrimus site - has it taken this long for everyone? I don't want to come away from One Tel and be left with just BT  :wall: :wall:
Q: How long does it take to set up Primus Saver?
A: Setting up the service on your line takes approximately 14-20 days after we receive your initial application. BT will carry out the necessary changes at its end and we will send you a letter to confirm the switch over date.0 -
I ordered Primus Saver Option 2 (at the time, that option was available via the Uswitch website) on 15/11/05.
My CPS changed from OneTel on 2/12/05.Time has moved on (much quicker than it used to - or so it seems at my age) and my previous advice on residential telephony has been or is now gradually being overtaken by changes in the retail market. Hence, I have now deleted links to my previous 'pearls of wisdom'. I sincerely hope they helped save some of you money.0 -
I switched to Primus via USwitch on Monday.
Have a BT line with OneTel on CPS. I didn't think there was a requirement to notify OneTel?I thought BT gave them notice the same time as they received details from Primus?

You dont have to notify your existing supplier when you change your cps supplier.New supplier and BT do all the work. But it doesnt do any harm if you do so. But you should not cancel your D/D until you have had your final bill, because they will normally charge you extra for non D/D payment.0
